Before you come to lie down in Shavasana,

Stretch your legs out in front of you as if you were about to lie down.

You can do this with your eyes open or closed.

Place your hands to your feet.

Gently and softly and lovingly soothe your hands and fingers over your toes and the tops of your feet.

As you do this,

Offer gratitude to your hard working and beautiful feet.

Remove any judgement that may arise and just shift into a feeling state.

Begin to move your hands up your legs,

Staying in contact with your body at all times,

Thanking your legs and your knees for their support and strength.

Now begin to lie yourself down and slide your hands over your hips and pelvis,

Pausing here,

Inviting warmth and gratitude from your hands into your pelvic area.

Let your hands slowly move up over your stomach,

Sending love and thanks into this space.

Let your hands move up over your heart and rib cage.

Feel a connection between this healing and loving space and the warmth from your hands.

Feel the gentle beating of your heart as you let your hands cross and move over your collarbones,

Feeling the contours of your shoulders,

Then lovingly spread your hands all the way down your arms,

Stroking your hands and fingertips.

From your fingertips,

Move your hands and feel up the sides of your neck,

Over your ears,

Round the top of your head,

Eventually bringing the palms of your hands to fit comfortably over your face.

Lovingly slide your fingertips down your face,

Feeling every part,

From forehead to chin.

Then take your hands all the way back,

Down over your neck,

Over your collarbones and onto your heart space.

Rest your hands over your heart now.

Feel deep into your beating heart.

Notice your beating heart pumping blood all throughout your entire body.

Lay in this deep feeling of awe for your body and the power it beholds.

Feel into sensations of deep appreciation and love for your amazing body.

Every love lies within you.

As you lie here,

Move or adjust in tune with loving your body fully and wanting it to be at its most comfortable throughout this practice.

Let your body lie in whichever way gives it most peace and security.

You can wrap yourself in blankets,

Rest your head on a pillow or maybe cover your eyes to soothe your senses.

Do what you need.

Imagine and then move into deep feelings of relaxation.

The practice of yoga nidra now begins.

Cover a memory of a time of feeling utterly and completely relaxed.

Let this memory go and with it invite feelings of gratitude into your heart.

Begin to take long deep belly breaths in and out through your nose.

Slowing each one a little bit more as you go.

Go deep intentional breath.

Honor your breath by gifting it the respect and attention it truly deserves.

Breathe now.

As you release concentration on your breath,

Move loving awareness back into the wide space of your heart.

Can you feel your heart's response to your loving breath?

Let yourself into deeper relaxation now.

In this moment of quiet stillness,

Make your intention to stay aware and awake throughout the practice.

Move closer into your heart and bring to mind your sankalpa or I am statement for this yoga nidra.

Breathe from your heart into your body and let your sankalpa or intention appear from your subtle body becoming clearer and clearer as it moves into your consciousness.

If you are new to sankalpa or are finding it difficult to define your statement,

No worries,

Simply use I am whole.

Let this statement of your desire form fully and repeat it three times breathing it from your consciousness into your heart and from your heart into your body.

Stay with this body awareness,

Letting it develop into feelings of deep love for all that you are.

Transcend love and move it into your right hand.

Map out your entire right hand and fingers with your senses and fill the shape with love.

Fillingly be in awe with your right hand.

Add into your awareness your whole right arm,

Mapping out the contours and shape of your right arm.

Let the mapping continue as you scan down your right side body,

Following the curves and lines.

The map then spreads all the way down your entire right leg,

Filling in every detail around your feet and toes.

This 3D central map of your right side is illuminated with the sensations of awe.

Awe for the whole right side.

Whole right side body.

Expansion of awe,

Filling your whole right side.

Zoom your presence out a little and shift the sensations of awe and love into your left hand.

Map out your entire left hand and fingers with your senses and fill the shape with love.

Lovingly be in love with your left hand.

Add into your awareness your whole left arm,

Mapping out the contours and shape of your left arm.

Let the mapping continue as you scan down the left side body,

Following the curves and lines.

The map spreads all the way down the entire left leg,

Filling in every detail around your feet and toes.

This 3D central map of your left side is illuminated with sensations of awe.

For the whole left side.

Whole left side body.

Expansion of awe,

Filling your whole left side.

We will now move alternately between your back and front side body.

Stay with me.

Stay with my voice as it guides your awareness.

Becoming aware of the heels of your feet at the point in which they meet the earth.

At the same time bring sensation to the tops of your ankles,

Open to the space above.

Feel into the backs of your calves and the tops of your knees,

Both buttocks and the pubic bone.

Lower back and stomach,

Middle back and solar plexus,

Upper back,

Chest and rib cage,

Shoulder blades and collar bones,

Backs of your hands and the palms of your hands,

The curve at the back of your neck,

The throat and front of your neck,

Back of the head,

Forehead,

Both of your ears,

Both eyes,

Nostrils,

Lips,

Whole face.

Lovingly map out your entire face and head,

Illuminating every contour and shape of your face and filling it with the felt awareness of awe.

Feel your whole face illuminated with awe and then adding in your whole upper body,

Both of your arms,

Both of your legs.

Zoom out to encompass your whole body with sensations of awe and appreciation.

Zoom in and become one with the sensations of awe and appreciation for your whole body,

Whole body.

Let your felt presence find the space within your whole body,

From your skin inwards.

Move your whole felt presence into the space within your whole body,

From your skin inwards.

Contain all sensations and vibrations to everything within your physical body.

Now begin to blur and smudge the boundaries between the open air and your skin.

Let all felt sensations within your body seep outwards and into the space around you.

Like smoke filling a room,

Let your presence and awareness fill into the space outside of you.

Become fully present of all the sensations filling you and all spaciousness.

Offer yourself this rest in the safety of your deep presence as your subtle body merges with oneness.

We'll now move into pairing opposite emotions and mental experiences.

Offer your loving presence.

Let it be your centre of balance and return.

Open yourself to the feeling of denial.

Denial of truth or experience.

How does denial feel in your experience now?

Face with feelings of approval.

Recognition of truth or experience.

How does approval feel in your physical body?

What arrives for you?

Release the emotions and return to your deep presence,

A place of balance.

Now invite the feeling of apathy,

Numbness.

Feel what it feels like to be numb.

How does this emotion live inside of you?

Now invite in perception.

Awareness.

How does it feel to be perceptive?

Release the emotions and return to your deep presence.

Over the experience of feeling lack.

How does lack show up for you?

Now move into the experience of flow.

Continuous steady flow.

How does it feel like to be in flow?

Release yourself from all emotions and let yourself return to your deep presence.

As we now dive into our ability to visualise and create in our imagination.

Let the words I speak dance and become images or symbols in your own creative way.

Dusky orange sunset.

Curves of a violin.

Skin of a peach.

Your reflection in a lake.

Scent of red roses.

A muddy puddle.

A shooting star.

A shooting star.

A shooting star.

Birds in a nest.

Ashes in a fire.

A baby yawning.

A golden light in darkness.

Two naked bodies embracing.

Butterflies in your stomach.

Dragonflies mating in the summer sun.

A pink sunrise over mountains.

Invite yourself to imagine and bring yourself to sit.

Sitting placed on a smooth rock peak overlooking a vast and expansive landscape.

You are gazing outwards to take in this awe-inspiring sunrise.

Your eyes can see it in full colour.

All of the pinks,

Reds and oranges.

Nature is painting and creating right in front of your own eyes.

The beauty in front of you quickly becomes an awareness of the beauty 360 degrees all around you.

Surrounded by endless nature with no sign of man.

As far as the eye can see is plentiful nature bound by beauty.

Everything in this moment is as it should be.

Not imperfection.

Nature is pure,

Untouched and mesmerising.

There is no judgement for how nature appears.

It just is.

You begin to feel your body merging into the nature.

You are becoming one with the beauty around you.

Can you see yourself as an offspring of nature?

Pure.

Beautiful.

And mesmerising.

Just as you are.

Everything about your body is vibrant and alive just as the nature you are falling in love with.

Appreciation.

Admiration for every line,

Contour,

Mark,

Texture and colour.

It's your natural magnificent self.

The wild creative mother made you just as you are.

Exquisitely whole.

Embody that knowing.

Now.

Now is your time to return to love.

Invite the feeling of awe inspiring nature and let it guide you back to your body loving.

Heart.

As you do so nature gently whispers into your ear.

You are whole.

You feel the touch of your hands on your heart.

Thank your body for all that it has been there for.

All that it has protected.

That it has made possible.

Every belly laugh.

Every trembling cry.

Times of rest and sickness.

Times of elevated joy and happiness.

With your hands to your heart,

Begin to speak your sankalpa or intention.

Speak it three times.

Reading the words and letting the vibration echo throughout your entire body.

Give your love and appreciation with an open heart.

Sincerely loving your body.

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Feed your lungs with graceful breath.

Slowly beginning to awaken.

Gently invite movements into your wrists and ankles.

If you feel ready you can take a giant stretch through your entire body.

Eventually bringing yourself to one side.

Give yourself a moment on your side before you move on to the rest of your day.
