Hello,

I'm Rachel Alexandria and this is Conquering the Fear of Failure.

Allow yourself to feel held by your chair or your bed or the floor in whatever way your body is resting.

Allow gravity to hold you and allow your breathing to begin to calm down.

There's no need to force anything.

Just focusing on the sound of my voice and the moments of silence.

Noticing your breathing,

Noticing your lungs receiving air,

Expelling carbon dioxide.

And you might think of it as breathing in love and breathing out gratitude.

For your body,

For your health,

For your consciousness,

For anything else.

For anything and everything that you love in this life.

The sky,

The birds,

Your friends,

Your family,

Your work,

Your play,

Anything and everything.

Breathing out gratitude and breathing in love.

You might notice your body starting to relax just a little more.

You might notice your muscles in your shoulders releasing.

You might even do it on your own.

You might notice other muscles loosening in your calves or your thighs,

Your arms.

And you can also choose to tense the muscle.

Breathing in and then on the exhale releasing,

Consciously relaxing your body.

And once you feel more relaxed,

More at ease,

Letting all your parts and your thoughts know that it's okay to just take this time to settle and relax.

That all these human beings need time for relaxing their nervous systems.

And you are a human being.

You are an animal that needs a relaxed nervous system.

Just reminding all your thoughts that it's good for your brain,

That it's good for your heart to allow this relaxation.

Breathing in love and breathing out gratitude.

And now I invite you to think about an area of your life that is wanting expansion.

This might be at your work.

It might be a creative project.

It might be in the area of relationships.

It might be a fitness goal.

But somewhere in your life that is wanting to expand a place where you have been dreaming of something more.

And for whatever reason have not yet taken the steps into that dream.

I invite you from a distance to notice any part of yourself that might feel fear about this dream.

And you don't need to take on the fear.

You don't need to wear it like a shirt.

You don't need to let it occupy you.

But instead from a compassionate distance like watching it on a movie screen.

Just noticing this fear.

And as you notice it,

I invite you to start to call in any kind of support that you have in your life,

In your mind,

In your heart.

This can look like many things.

You might call upon spiritual support like a guardian angel or God or a God or Goddess.

You might call upon Quan Yin or Lakshmi or Jesus or Mother Mary.

You can also call upon the elements from the earth that feel supportive to you.

Perhaps the ocean and the way it is powerful and endless and life giving.

You could call upon the sun and the warmth that gives you in your heart and on your skin.

You can call upon any person living,

Passed on,

Fictional or real.

A favorite grandparent,

An ancestor you admire,

Your favorite character from a movie.

For example,

You could call upon Mary Poppins or Winnie the Pooh.

The energy that makes you feel stronger and more loved and more safe and supported.

As you breathe in,

Breathe in that support all the way into your body,

Into your heart,

Into your soul.

You can imagine that support if you wish standing next to you or holding your hand or standing behind you,

Resting supportive hands on your back.

Imagine that support saying to you,

I believe in you.

No matter what happens,

I am here with you.

I believe in your bravery.

I believe in your courage.

I believe in your resilience because trying out your dream is not about winning.

It's about having the strength to try.

I am here with you as you build this muscle.

And you can lean into me.

In the times that are hard,

Where things don't go as planned,

And I will whisper to you,

I believe in you.

You are courageous.

Even trying this is a success.

I am proud of you for reaching for your dream.

Notice as you hear this a sense of pride in yourself.

A healthy feeling in your heart of being happy with yourself or trying something that you care about.

And as you notice this warm glow in your heart from the support that you're hearing and from that sense of pride,

Say yes to this feeling and allow it to grow.

Hear your support saying,

No matter what,

I'm here.

Anytime you want,

All you have to do is look inside and I'm right here.

All the way,

I am with you.

Allow this feeling that you have now to multiply.

And notice as you look at this movie screen again,

Where your fear has been showing,

Notice how much smaller it looks when you have this support.

Notice how much less significant that fear seems when you're not alone.

And say to this movie screen in your head or out loud,

I am going to do this thing because I have support.

I believe in myself and no matter what,

I am already good enough.

I am already loved.

And you are just an adventure I can choose to take.

And now breathing in,

Breathing in love and support and breathing out gratitude for that support.

Breathing in belief in yourself and breathing out any story about an outcome having to be a certain way.

You are an adventurer and the ending is yet to be written.

What is important is all the resources that you have inside of you and the abilities you will develop on this adventure.

Take two more breaths,

Just allowing this meditation to settle into yourselves.

And say your name to yourself with the title adventurer on the end.

And when you are ready,

Flutter your eyelids and wiggle your toes and fingers.

Take a nice stretch.

And as you are ready,

Come back to the room,

To your life and welcome to your adventure.

Loved this one. Iโ€™m a baker and writer, and I draw a lot of inspiration from literary heroes. Lately Iโ€™ve been dealing with anxiety about my work and writing- so this helped remind me of my inspirations and the lessons they teach me. Thank you.
