This meditation is going to focus on grounding our energy so that we don't feel like we are spinning,
Anxious or nervous.
When our thoughts are going crazy is when anxiety tends to kick in more and more.
Grounding yourself helps calm down that spinning.
I want you to sit comfortably,
Straight in your spine,
With your chin slightly down.
Taking in a deep breath and then a big exhale.
Releasing the tension in your face and your jaw.
Letting go of any tension in the neck or the shoulders.
After your next inhale,
I want you to breathe out all of your daily worries.
And then on the next exhale,
Let out your long term worries or thoughts on the future.
And then on your next exhale will be all your subconscious worries.
Now place your attention at the base of your spine where your root chakra is located.
You are going to visualize cords of light coming out of this area and down into the floor.
See these cords continue to go down into the earth,
Layer after layer,
Until you reach the center of the earth.
See hooks at the end of these cords and I want you to hook into the core of the earth.
Feel that energy start to come back up and know that you are anchored and grounded.
Then I want you to hold an image of a tree in your mind's eye.
See it big and tall.
Notice its trunk.
Look at its branches and leaves.
See the textures of each and the colors.
Now look under the ground and see its roots.
Visualize the roots going way down into the earth.
Start to feel those roots as if they are your own.
See and feel them growing out further and further into the ground underneath you.
Any of those thoughts or worries that you have swirling around in your head,
I want you to send them down into your roots.
Imagine that these thoughts are getting stored down in the roots as a safe place to be kept but not to be held up in your mind constantly.
Not releasing into the earth,
Just storing in your roots.
Continue to do this as you meditate on your own for a while.
Every time a thought pops up in your mind,
I want you to send it down into your roots.
Feel the roots going way down into the ground beneath you and be there to gladiatate you.
Now I want you to see these thoughts as pieces of light in your roots,
Helping them grow.
With every inhale you are breathing in relaxing and calming light energy.
And with every exhale see the light drop deeper and deeper into your roots.
Continue doing this for a few inhales and exhales.
And with every exhale see the light drop deeper and deeper into your roots.
Now take notice of how you feel in your body.
Are you feeling grounded,
Calmer?
Does it feel better to have your thoughts and worries stored somewhere,
Not racing through your mind?
Do you feel more connected to the earth?
Just paying attention to your body and that connection keeping you grounded throughout your day.
You can always come back to this practice when you are feeling anxious or stressed.
And so now start to feel your legs and your torso,
Feeling your back,
Your neck,
Your head.
Come back fully into your body.
Taking a really deep inhale and exhale and open your eyes.
