Welcome.
This is the practice of Yoga Nidra for emotional balance.
Take a moment to make yourself comfortable.
Use the props if you need.
Make all the adjustments now.
Maybe separate your feet about hip-width distance and allow your feet to relax naturally.
Take your hands down by the hips,
Palms facing up,
And your hands are slightly away from your body.
Close your eyes.
And once again,
Make all the adjustments now so that you remain comfortable throughout the whole practice.
We are going to work with emotions in this Yoga Nidra.
The suggestion is to work with one that has a little bit of energy to it,
That is present for you,
Perhaps a difficult emotion.
So you might want to think about it now or you may want to get into the practice and when the time comes,
You'll address whatever you'll sense.
Now take a moment to begin to settle your body and your mind into the present moment.
Notice what's present for you right now.
You may notice that there are muscles in your body that are already relaxed and open.
And you may notice that there are muscles that are still tense and gripping.
You may notice that part of your mind is settled and ready for this practice.
And you may notice that there is a part of the mind that is unsettled or restless.
Whatever is present right now,
Welcome all that as part of your practice.
Let all the sounds wash over you.
And now become aware of your body breathing.
Follow the sensations of the breath and observe the flow of your breath.
Breathing down to your belly,
Slowly allow it to expand.
And as you're breathing out slowly,
Soften,
Relax a little more.
Just inhaling and exhaling gently and smoothly with no pauses in the breath.
Sense the breath as it moves through the body.
It revitalizes you,
Recharges you,
Renews you.
As you breathe out,
Dissolving all stress,
Tension,
All discomfort.
Continue to breathe in this way for a little longer.
Each time you breathe out,
It's an opportunity to relax a little more,
A little deeper.
Staying in the experience of your breath,
Noticing sensations of your inhalation and exhalation.
Now we are going to take 10 breaths,
Counting down from 10 to 0.
So the inhale will be 10,
The exhale will be 10.
Next inhale is 9,
Exhale is 9.
Please continue just like that towards 0.
And imagine these breaths counting down to be like stepping stones,
Taking you deeper and deeper into your inner world.
Taking you deeper and deeper into your body and into your experience.
If you finish,
Go back to 10 again and count towards 0.
Not pausing,
Not forcing,
Allowing natural rhythm of the breath.
Now let go of the counting and observe your body,
The space within your body and the space around your body.
We are now going through a process of moving our awareness through the body.
I'll say a point and you'll bring your attention to that point while you continue to cultivate perfect effortlessness.
Bring your awareness to the tip of your nose and feel sensation at your nose.
Awareness to your cheeks,
Your cheekbones,
Your eyelids.
Become aware of the sensation at the right eyeball,
Left eyeball.
Now sensing both of the eyes and eyelids gently close over the eyeballs.
Now bring your awareness to the earlobes and the sensation in your right ear canal,
Left ear canal.
And sensing both ears at the same time,
Simultaneously.
Sensing your lips,
The tongue,
The tip of the tongue,
The middle of the tongue and the back of the tongue.
Now bring your awareness to the tip of the tongue,
The tip of the tongue,
The tip of the tongue,
The tip of the tongue,
The tip of the tongue.
Notice the energy radiating from the right palm,
Right wrist,
Right elbow,
Right shoulder,
Center of the throat.
Now bring your awareness to the tip of the tongue,
