So as you begin to settle into a laid-down position,
Pulling your blankets over you where you feel called to,
Drawing in cushions where your body's asking for more support,
Taking your time as you just begin to find your way towards being laid comfortably.
I'm going to invite us into presence with ourselves,
Into a full and gentle presence with ourselves.
Because life has this way of pulling us out of our bodies and into everything else.
And our bodies are so wonderful.
Bodies are here with a purpose.
This experience we call life is designed to be felt through the cells.
We are energy bodies having a human experience which is so wild and hippie,
But also the truth.
So this,
This is an invitation to feel into a human experience.
And this experience of yourself in this body.
If there's one thing that's true about life,
It's that it's always changing,
It's always evolving.
And so too are the cells that hold you.
This practice is intended to connect you into this body that you're in in this moment.
As well as the truth of what lies here for you right now.
So let's begin to feel into ourselves.
I'm going to guide your awareness around your body.
And notice what's there in each place.
Things might feel similar.
They might feel different.
The most important thing in all of this,
In all of life,
Is that we feel what is there,
What is here.
Noticing what this amazingly intelligent gang of cells that holds us.
Notice what this gang of cells is saying.
Tuning into these bodies can change everything.
All of our life can begin to shift.
That's the very nature of living yoga.
So let's begin with our awareness.
Up in the follicles of your scalp.
The skin across your forehead.
The space between the eyebrows.
The eyeballs themselves.
Sensing into the brain,
Not the thoughts,
But the organ brain.
Sensing into each of the teeth.
Into the lips.
The jaw.
The voice spot.
The upper chest.
The collarbones.
The area between the shoulder blades.
And the shoulder blades themselves.
Both armpits.
The upper arms.
Resting your awareness of that inside of the elbow.
The inside of the wrist.
The lines that cross your palm.
And the fingerprints that whirl and swirl across the pads of your fingers.
Bringing your awareness back now to the ribcage.
The whole ribcage.
The front,
The sides and the back.
And then let's move within that.
Sensing into the organs that are moving within it.
And slowly that awareness can descend down into the torso.
Into the belly.
Sensing into the visceral organs that lie there.
What is there to feel?
Bringing your awareness now to the navel.
To each side of the waist.
And the lower back.
To both bum cheeks.
Both thighs.
Each of the kneecaps.
The calves.
The knobbly ankle bone.
The arches of the feet.
And the very tips of each and every one of your toes.
Find yourself laying in a gentle presence of each and every one of your cell.
From the very top of your head to the tips of your toe.
Opening out to all of the physical body.
All of your physical body.
Laying in gentle presence of your whole self.
Opening out to the parts of you that are wide awake.
Those pieces of you that lie sleeping.
The parts of you that are long forgotten.
The parts of you that hold new knowledge.
Listening to the cells that hold you.
Listening to this body.
Really listen.
And see what arises as you rest into your body.
From this ground of being.
Opening out to all that arises.
Opening with all of your senses.
Listening in to these conversations that your body has with you.
Really listening.
Really listening.
What rises up when you listen to your whole self.
We're going to begin to expand our awareness now.
Beyond only ourselves where we've been settled in this life.
Expanding that awareness out into the room in which you lay.
Becoming aware of your place.
Which you rest in this world.
Maybe expanding your awareness out beyond the place that you rest.
Beyond the walls.
To the area that you are.
Still staying connected.
Still holding that gentle presence with yourself.
What does your body need right now?
Take that.
Whatever it is.
It may be more rest.
It may be staying just as you are.
It may be movement.
It may be your own sounds.
A big sigh.
A roar.
In this moment really taking care of your body's needs.
Being there truly for yourself.
And know that your practice is for you.
And also that your practice ripples out of you.
And holds everybody else as well as yourself.
What do you need?
What's the most natural thing for you right now?
And when you feel ready to continue with your day.
Move into that day.
Still holding that gentle presence with yourself.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
I'll see you soon.
