Aqua Yoga Nidra: To Find Flow
by Pip Roberts
This is a gentle yoga nidra practice that draws on the element of water to ease your body and mind from stagnation and back into the flow of life. As Pip guides you through a body scan, feel your body soften as you release any stress or tension and drop into a place of calm and authenticity.

Hi,
I'm Pit Roberts and this yoga nidra is going to be a journey with the water element Let's start with finding you laid on the floor or a bed Lay down somewhere comfortable There might be a blanket covering you so that you can stay warm And maybe a pillow under the backs of the knees or the back of the head Just so you feel supported and your body can begin to soften Any movements that you feel drawn to taking,
Let them arise in your body Until you find your way to be Feel the motion that's within your body each time you breathe As your awareness rests on your breath Notice how these waves slowly begin to wash thoughts away Notice how these waves slowly begin to wash thoughts away Any thoughts that rise are washed away by the motion of the breath The breath slowly cleanses you Cleans you Cleans you Can you allow your body to soften so that the breath begins to move through you a little deeper And maybe that ebb and flow begins to roll more of you around Maybe that ebb and flow begins to roll more of you around You feel a little more fluid in your being Softer Perhaps beginning to feel a little more formless as the motion of the breath engulfs your being Feel the crest of the breath Feel your body as the wave of breath crests through it And then feel your body as you begin to enter the trough The softness,
This fluidity that exists within you allowing you to ride these waves with ease The softness,
This fluidity that exists within you allowing you to ride these waves with ease No edges Soft rolling through your body Rhythmical Easeful The waves of the breath keep coming Steady and full I'm going to guide the flow of awareness around the body The awareness at each body part until it's called on to flow through to the next The right hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger Palm of the hand,
Back of the hand,
The wrist,
The lower arm,
The elbow,
The upper arm The right shoulder,
The armpit,
The waist,
The hip The awareness flows down through the thigh to the knee,
Trickling down the shin to the ankle The puddles in the foot,
Top of the foot,
The sole of the foot,
The big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe and the little toe The awareness in the left hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and the little finger Feel it pool in the palm of the left hand,
The back of the left hand,
The wrist,
The lower arm,
The elbow,
The upper arm The left shoulder,
The armpit,
The awareness cascading down the left side to the hip,
The thigh,
The knee,
Shin The ankle,
Gathering in the foot,
The top of the foot,
The sole of the foot,
The big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe and the little toe The awareness washes up the back of the body,
Back of the heels,
Back of the calves,
Back of the knees,
Back of the thighs The buttocks,
The lower back,
The mid back,
The upper back Trickling up the back of the neck,
The back of the head,
The crown of the head,
The forehead The right eyebrow,
The left eyebrow,
The awareness puddling on the inner corners of the eyebrow And it drips down the nose to the tip,
The cupid's bow,
The lower lip,
The chin,
Throat,
To the collar bones Down the front ribs,
Over the belly,
And then it puddles in the abdomen Aware again of the breath moving,
As the abdomen moves with those wave-like breaths Aware of the right body,
Aware of the left body,
Aware of the back body,
Aware of the front body Aware of the whole body together,
Aware of the fluidity that exists within the whole body The trickles,
The rivers and the lakes of energy that exist within you,
Aware of the fluid self Anchor your awareness to the breath once more Feel your body moving on the tide of the breath The softness through the tissues that allow your body to crest and trough Smooth rocking motion Notice how much of your body moves with the breath This fluidity,
Rhythmic fluidity As you exhale,
Feel the release,
And feel the inhale bringing in the new These gentle shifts each time you breathe This release,
And then this delivery Let your breath cleanse you Let the exhales wash away what you don't need Feel into that movement again that comes with each cycle Let your tissues receive the breath deeply,
So that the breath begins to ripple through you Beyond the lungs,
To the other organs,
Tissues and cells,
With nickel cleansing,
Softening And awareness of this fluid movement through the whole body And now this practice reaches its end You may choose to settle where you are for a little longer,
Or maybe explore some very fluid movement Formlessness within your own form,
Maybe just where you're laid Allow your intuition,
Your body's inner great knowledge to begin to move you Just as water always wants to form a round sphere with other water molecules What form is your body naturally drawn towards right now after practice?
What movements feel like they quench your body's thirst?
I will leave you to explore,
Or to rest,
Until next time.
Namaste.

Water is my happy place! I am inspired in, on, under and around water. This was lovely. Please read the book Blue mind if you haven't yet. It explains the science of why humans are happier because of water and more. Namaste

I listened to this in the bathtub. It was perfect to be able to float and move with the guided meditation. It encouraged myofascial unwinding.
