Let's begin with a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Give yourself over to letting go.
Relax.
Make any adjustments to come into maximum comfort.
Breathing,
Feeling yourself rooted to the ground,
Connected to the earth,
And scanning your body,
Starting with your toes and feet.
Let's bring your awareness up through your calves and your knees,
Letting go of any tension in your leg muscles,
Your thighs,
Just noticing what takes place in your abdominal area as you breathe,
Completely relaxing,
Bringing your attention up into your shoulders,
Giving all those muscles that extend up into your neck a break,
A little time out,
Letting your fingers and hands become carefree,
Dangle in space,
And just notice the muscles in your face,
Your jaw muscles,
Allowing them all to go completely slack,
And now picturing a door at the very top of your head.
This door opens,
And all the thoughts you've been carrying up to this moment move out,
Drift off,
Creating space for clarity and stillness.
With each breath,
You release judgment,
Fear,
Drama,
Opinions,
And connect with a spacious,
Peaceful well-being,
Noticing the beautiful,
Rhythmic quality of your breath.
In,
Keep your attention on your breath,
Let your noticing become a spiritual retreat,
An experience of rejuvenation,
A reminder that you are more than your thoughts,
And if thoughts return,
There will be a bell to bring you back to the stillness and connection that takes place in each breath.
