You might want to have a pen and paper nearby to use at the end of this meditation.

Take a deep breath and as you exhale,

Feel that delicious wave of release pass through your body.

Breathe and allow yourself to surrender into this adventure.

Imagine you are walking a path through a meadow of tall grass and flowers.

This field is nestled in a valley between great mountain peaks.

You breathe deeply.

It's a beautiful day.

The air is warm and gentle on your skin.

Sounds of nature,

Fragrances of wood,

Flowers and grass,

The palette of nature's colors all combine to fill your senses with wonder and joy.

The path you're on turns a few degrees to the right and now ahead of you in the near distance is a majestic mountain.

You stop.

The base of the mountain is a short distance away and as your gaze moves up to the summit,

An awareness comes over you.

It's unmistakable.

There is a force calling you forward and it's emanating from that summit.

You must go there.

So you start walking again.

There's no turning back.

As you get closer to the base of this great mountain,

You enter a dense forested section.

The air is suddenly much cooler.

The brilliant sunlight is now only shafts breaking through high branches.

You're aware of different sounds like the crunch of leaves beneath your feet.

Bird calls back and forth.

Above the canopy of tree branches,

Clouds start to roll in.

The shafts of sunlight disappear,

Replaced by a soft,

Uniform light.

You arrive at the base of the mountain and a trailhead going up.

And looking up at the sheer face of the mountain,

You see that clouds now obscure the top.

You step up onto the steep and narrow path and walk at a brisk pace.

You quickly gain elevation.

The trail doubles back on itself,

Each time presenting a new view of the valley below.

And it's getting colder.

Soon you've reached an elevation where you are completely enveloped by clouds.

Moisture covers the path and the surface of the mountainside.

The fog is now so thick that your vision is limited to about two feet in any direction.

With each step,

The path is getting narrower until,

Quite abruptly,

The path ends.

The only way up is to scale the sheer face of the mountain.

So you climb.

Hand over hand,

Carefully choosing each foothold,

Each crevice one rock at a time.

You pull yourself ever higher.

As you traverse one section of the mountain face,

You come upon a tiny stream of water,

Snaking down between the rocks,

Dipping into the cracks and flowing back out.

You carefully work your way across this small stream of water and you pause to drink from it.

Then,

Quite suddenly,

A buzzing sound comes close to your head,

Circles around behind you and comes to rest inches from your face.

You turn slowly to see a hummingbird hovering so closely you can feel the wind from its wings against your cheek.

The hummingbird inches forward and it too begins to drink from the tiny streamlet.

You marvel at the ability of this tiny bird to position himself so steadily in midair.

And then,

Just as suddenly as it appeared,

The tiny bird flies up and away.

You look up,

Following its path,

And notice blue patches of sky appearing through the mist.

And just above you,

What appears to be the beginning of a new footpath.

You pull yourself up onto the path.

Dust off and start walking again.

The cloud layer is now giving way to clear sky and brilliant sunshine.

You round a bend and find yourself on the crest of the mountain.

Before you is a flat expanse of rich green turf and at the far end are huge boulders forming what looks like a grandstand or altar.

You run across to the other side of this expanse and from here you can see for hundreds of miles in every direction.

As you're taking in this view,

You become aware that you're not alone.

You turn around and at the far end of this field you see a radiant figure of being,

A person perhaps,

Standing,

Arms open in a gesture of receiving.

You walk toward the figure.

With each step you feel the soft undergrowth beneath your feet.

And the closer you get,

The more you know this being is a source of wisdom.

You are now standing face to face with this divine ageless soul.

And you look into their eyes and your heart opens.

You are being seen and accepted for who you are.

Everything about this is safe and loving.

It's okay to feel these feelings,

To let them come up.

When you're ready,

You can ask questions,

Seek guidance,

Or you can simply be in the loving presence of this guide.

When you're complete,

Thank your divine source of wisdom and return to that place overlooking the world below.

Take a moment to express gratitude for yourself,

Gratitude for all that your life has been,

Gratitude for all that your life might be.

Now slowly come back to this reality.

Come back feeling refreshed and aware,

At peace and empowered.

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

I encourage you to write down any learnings that came forward during your journey.

And here are three questions you might consider.

Is there one thing I can do differently in my life that will really benefit me?

Is there a self-defeating story I keep repeating in my thoughts that I can let go of starting today?

And the last one is,

How can I help myself remember that I have access to wisdom whenever I need it?

And the second one is,

How can I help myself remember that I have access to wisdom when I need it?
