Inner child healing is a helpful practice of self-discovery that can help you understand your behaviors, triggers, wants, and needs. It is a powerful approach to acknowledging and healing childhood trauma, recognizing that our behaviors as adults stem from our childhood experiences and focusing on addressing our unmet needs by reparenting ourselves. In this meditation I will guide you to tap into a part of yourself that may be vulnerable and impressionable and in so doing, you are both the “grown-up” and the child, providing unconditional self-love, self-compassion, and self-support. Inner Child work can benefit you if you often: • Feel like a victim • Let others dictate how you feel • Struggle to set boundaries in relationships • Find yourself reliving experiences that already happened • Feel safer when you put walls up

Hello dear ones,

And welcome to Heal Your Inner Child meditation.

The intention of today's meditation is to help you connect with and heal your inner child.

The little girl or boy who might still be holding on to pain and hurt.

The little girl or boy who will help you remember what love and joy truly feel like.

The little girl or boy who wants nothing more than to be loved unconditionally.

Honouring your inner child,

Connecting with them and healing them will invite more peace into your life.

The first half of the meditation is more of the intense stuff,

So to say,

Seeing those wounds that need to be healed,

Honouring the stories we've created from happenings from our childhood and so forth.

If during the meditation you feel triggered in any way,

I advise you to stop the meditation or skip over this part.

Show yourself love and compassion.

You can choose to come back to it at any time later.

The second half is dedicated to you smiling,

Laughing,

Hugging and connecting with the little child inside of you,

Feeling your child's love and light in a refreshing way.

So,

Let's begin by getting into a comfortable position,

Relaxing your body while your mind stays alert.

Close your eyes and make any adjustments you need to settle into comfort.

Take one deep breath in and exhale out.

Once again,

Take a deep,

Big breath in and exhale.

Drilling deeper into relaxation as you bring your breathing to its normal rhythm.

Let your eyes get heavier.

Unclench your jaw and relax your cheeks.

Lower your shoulders.

Relax your arms and your hands.

Soften your stomach and feel your legs and your feet get heavier and melt into deeper relaxation.

Feel your body here,

Warm,

Relaxed,

Soft.

Now,

I invite you to imagine yourself as a little girl or boy.

Just observe her or him for a few seconds.

Look at their hair,

Their body,

Their eyes.

Notice their position,

Their attitude,

Their expressions.

Take it all in,

This vision of your inner child.

What sounds do you hear them make?

What scent is around them?

What is their demeanour?

Now,

I invite you to imagine a giant bubble on one side of your child.

A dark,

Smoky bubble.

And as you look closer at it,

You recognise what's inside.

Sadness,

Pain,

Hurt and fear.

So many dark memories inside of this bubble.

Maybe you're seeing within it flashes of those dark memories,

Many movies from your childhood.

Or maybe you're simply seeing the emotions floating within it and feeling their heaviness,

The disappointment,

The rejection or fear.

This incredible little child created stories about each one of those memories or emotions.

Maybe they created a story called,

I'm not good enough,

Or I'm not worthy,

Or I don't matter,

Or even I can't trust others.

Your inner child is not wrong for doing this.

It's what all of us do.

But they're stories they created that are not allowing you to live as vibrantly as you would like.

So,

Take a deep,

Cleansing breath in.

And as you exhale,

Release the heaviness of these stories.

And then reach out to this little girl or boy and embrace them in your arms,

Holding them close with love,

Pure love.

And say to your inner child,

I love you.

I hear you.

I am here for you.

I will never leave you.

And watch as that dark,

Smoky bubble diminishes,

Little by little.

Hug your inner child.

Love them.

Hold them.

Accept them.

And watch the stories evaporate away.

Embrace your inner child in a vibration of unconditional love,

Acceptance and forgiveness.

And say to yourself,

I am willing to love my inner child more than she or he has ever been loved.

The past is not my fault,

And I release the shame,

Blame and pain of my childhood.

I am willing to love my inner child more than she or he has ever been loved.

The past is not my fault,

And I release the shame,

Blame and pain of my childhood.

Now,

Take a step back and observe the child again,

This beautiful little child.

And now I invite you to imagine a big,

Bright bubble on the other side of them.

This bubble is filled with laughter,

Creativity,

Dreams and love.

Perhaps you're seeing within it flashes of those happy memories,

Many movies from your childhood.

Or maybe you're simply seeing the emotions floating within it and feeling their lightness,

The joy,

The lightheartedness,

The imagination.

Just sit back and witness it all.

And feel a smile spread across your face.

This is all yours,

And the doorway to inviting in more of it in your current life.

More joy,

More love,

More creativity is through this special little child.

Turn your attention from this bright bubble onto the little girl or boy.

See how they light up?

See how their smile comes from their soul?

Remember how much she or he loved to play and move and imagine?

She or he is here with you,

Ready to create more memories of joy to place in this bubble.

Now,

Stretch your arms out and embrace this gorgeous little child.

And feel their pure love saturate you,

Reminding you that you are the child and the child is you.

Remind them that they were never damaged,

Unworthy or stupid.

Your child is created in the image and likeness of beauty,

Intelligence,

Order and balance and all the magnificence of the universe.

Your inner child is now waking up to this truth.

I am awake.

Now repeat the following affirmation after me.

By acknowledging and embracing the pain and shame of my inner child,

I am entirely ready to allow my soul to heal and restore me to wholeness.

By acknowledging and embracing the pain and shame of my inner child,

I am entirely ready to allow my soul to heal and restore me to wholeness.

Bring your attention now to your breathing,

Feeling the hum of peace and calm all over your body.

And as we bring this practice to a close,

Take this moment to acknowledge yourself for creating this space,

This time,

Having the intention of doing this for your own learning,

For your own health and for your own well-being.

This is an act of love.

So acknowledge and honour yourself for taking this time.

Thank yourself for sitting.

Thank yourself for being here.

You are so special.

Namaste.
