Hello and welcome to the colour imagery meditation.

If you were to find a comfortable sitting position having your head back and neck in alignment away from the chair,

Having feet on the floor hip width apart or if you're sitting on the floor having your spine upright and straight and if it feels comfortable to be able to close your eyes or alternatively have a soft gaze apart in the room and if we were to spend a few moments just noticing what's here in our inner experience.

What do you notice here that's in your body or your mind?

It's not necessary to change anything.

Noticing those physical sensations.

You may notice those anchor points,

Touch,

Our feet on the floor or having a seat on a chair sitting on the floor as an invitation to notice your breathing to take a deep breath in and slow breath out to notice pauses between one in breath and one out breath and then the out breath to the in breath.

It's a rising full of the domino wall as you breathe in and out.

If we were to change the focus of our attention to create a picture in our mind of the colour red.

Imagine red of all shades.

You might picture red objects,

Red landscape or just a solid colour.

Imagine all the different tones of red.

Roses,

Bricks,

Apples,

Sunsets.

Notice what's here the colour red.

Now allow the colour you're imagining to change to orange.

Picture the colour orange,

Different shades of orange,

Flowers,

Pumpkins,

Carrots.

Feel the entire visual field of your mind's eye,

The colour orange.

Notice what's here,

The colour orange.

Now allow the colour yellow.

See imagination,

All the various shades of yellow.

Now yellow to fill your vision.

Lemons,

Flowers,

Fall leaves.

Imagine the endless tones the colour yellow.

Imagine yourself surrounded by the calming colour yellow.

Enjoy the colour yellow.

Let the colour you're imagining become green.

Fill your imagination with the colour green.

Endless shades and tones of green.

Plants,

Leaves,

Grass.

Imagine being surrounded by beautiful green all shades from the lightest to the darkest.

Notice what's here for the colour green.

Now see in your mind the colour blue.

Surround yourself with beautiful blue.

Water,

Sky,

Ocean.

Imagine blue filling your vision.

What do you notice for the colour blue?

Allow the colour blue.

Allow the colour in your imagination to become violet.

Focus on multiple purples around you.

Flowers,

Sunrise.

Immerse yourself in the colour purple.

Allow your attention to return to the focus of your breath.

And just notice breathing in and breathing out your whole body sitting here.

I'm going to go through the colours again one at a time starting with red,

Orange,

Yellow,

Green,

Blue,

Purple.

Now picture whatever calming colour you wish.

Do you have a favourite or colour that suits your mood right now?

Imagine whatever colour you like.

Notice what's here in this moment and just to notice what's here in your body right now.

As we come to the end of this meditation I'm going to ring the bell which will signify the end of the practice and gives you an opportunity to slowly open your eyes,

Become fully alert and calm.
