What I'm wanting to touch on today,

Something that feels like really important for me,

And I think that,

You know,

When messages come through for us,

That if we share them authentically,

Generally the right ears will hear them.

And for some of you,

I'm sure that you're going through this process because it happens to each of us.

And I think that anyone can escape shedding,

Like the shedding of layers of ourselves,

The shedding of our internal world or external world.

And something that I know and something that I really feel that occurred for me when I was going through my process of working through my teacher training for the first time was things just began to fall away,

Like very,

Very quickly and very slowly as well.

Things began to fall away.

So there were friendships that fell away.

There were jobs that fell away.

There were these purposes in my external world that began to slowly fall away.

And there was this deep fear of that.

As things began to shed,

I felt like I was losing something and it felt really frightening.

It felt,

You know,

And I've spoke to this before,

But it felt like if I'm working to better myself and to find transformation,

Why am I losing things?

Why aren't things coming to me?

And what I was thinking about today as I listened to the last bit of Eckhart Tolle's audio book for what you guys are reading right now,

There was a steep reminder of a message that I got from that book the first time that I read it.

The message was,

Is you know,

When we're born,

Birth is this beautiful time of expansion.

So birth is all about expansion.

We're born into the world new and we're born into the world.

And if you really think about it,

Kind of like with amnesia,

We have no idea how we've gotten here.

We don't have language.

We're not really sure what is happening inside a child's mind,

But the world is large and everything is new.

And so we're learning language,

We're learning connection,

We're learning colors,

We're learning texture.

And so there is this great mass of expansion that happens with childbirth.

And on the opposite side of those things,

We have death,

Which is a contraction.

And so when we think about death,

Our world becomes smaller,

Not only because,

Not only speaking to personal death,

But if I have a friendship group and I'm,

And I'm to lose a friend,

That's a death of my world.

That is a contraction of my world.

My world slowly begins,

It becomes smaller and smaller.

So you think about your parents and you think about your grandparents and there was this expansiveness in their life where they were growing their family and they were growing their life and their careers.

And as they get older and they move from a state of doing more into a state of being,

Their material world begins to contract.

And as they go into the death process and their material world contracts,

A lot of times their spiritual world begins to expand because they go back to the state of what they were before they came into this experience.

And so why this is important is that throughout your life,

If you're lucky,

And I believe that you ladies are,

You wouldn't be here,

That you will go through many times of expansion and contraction as you grow spiritually.

And what happens for many people is that they get stunted in the process because as the world contracts,

You know,

As they grow spiritually and their world contracts and they lose friends or they quit jobs,

It's very painful.

And that loss feels really damaging to their ego identity and to what they've created for themselves.

And many people will go back to failing relationships or jobs that do not make them happy or staying in friendships that do not serve them because that feels more expansive.

They're not losing any parts of themselves.

And so what I invite for you,

And as we go through the meditation today,

Is whatever is occurring for you in your world.

So if you think about,

You know,

Sarah's world and Sarah's world and Amber's world and Casey's world and Deborah's world and Echo's world,

We each have life moving through us in a different expression.

My circle,

My sphere of influence is different from Sarah Patterson's sphere of influence,

Very different.

You know,

We're not going to see the same people.

We're not going to eat with the same people.

We're not going to even maybe hear the same languages on a day to day basis.

We have a very different sphere of influence.

So life expressing itself through me is very different and so be it for you.

So meaning that it feels so personal and it feels so unique and it feels so subject to like suffering and pleasure.

But in reality,

You know,

Life and you,

Life and me are not,

They're not separate.

They're all,

They're all unified.

And so as things begin to shed for you,

Allow yourself to sit with that contraction and to learn from it because there is generally the deepest spiritual growth that most people will have in their lives.

When they lose things or things lose them,

They begin to grow.

And so Tolle,

I can't remember in which part or which chapter,

He has this beautiful quote that says,

You can only lose something that you have,

But you can't lose something that you are.

And so this is really,

Really big for you guys as you step deeper into your spiritual process because when you start to really take control of your life and live consciously and presently,

Things will begin to shift and sometimes not in the most comfortable of ways.

And so just,

Just acknowledge that if it seems like it's getting,

Especially taking psychotherapy,

I know for you Sarah,

You're in therapy,

I'm in that as well.

A lot of times to grow,

We have to go through that Shiva and shock the destruction where everything kind of just feels like it's completely chaotic to come into a space of creativity and grounding.

So that's that.

And we'll,

We'll get into the meditation now and a little bit more silence on my end.

So go ahead and find yourselves in a comfortable seat.

Feel free to turn down the light on your computer if it feels better to just switch it off.

You don't have to look.

It's perfectly fine.

Go ahead and find yourselves in a comfortable seat.

And our meditation doesn't only begin when we find ourselves seated upright,

But our meditation begins the moment that we choose to come into meditation.

It's the energy that we bring in.

It's the deep presence.

If we rush to come into meditation or if we're in anger or anxiety as we step towards our meditation cushions,

Many times we bring that into our field.

So let's just take some time here to really settle within each of our unique bodies and vessels and just noticing where you can release more,

Where you can surrender more and where you can be more deeply present.

And when we come in to meditation,

When we sit together,

Just as if sitting with a friend in conversation,

The conversation,

The meditation becomes secondary and the sacred field of presence between the two or the many becomes the primary.

Instead of thinking of what needs to happen here in this space between us,

Let go of the need or expectation and simply be present,

Completely embodied,

Completely tuned into your breath,

Listening as it moves in and out of your nostrils,

Relaxing the brow and the jaw.

Relax the shoulders,

The upper back,

The sides of the rib cage.

And as you move down in awareness to the trunk of the body,

Become deeply aware of the earth beneath you,

Deeply aware of the support that you have here beneath your seat.

Let out a sigh on the exhale,

Just allowing you to land a bit deeper.

And just allow yourself to be here.

There's no expectation to be a master at meditation or perfect in posture or clear of mind.

As the sounds travel by,

You can just think to yourself,

Sound.

As your mind begins to think,

If it does,

Simply instead change the experience to telling yourself thought.

There is a smell instead of identifying it and labeling it,

Just think,

Smell.

You can always come back to the breath repeating in the mind,

I am breathing in,

I am breathing out.

A few more moments here deeply settled into silence and stillness.

And I want you to bring to mind.

Anything in your present experience,

In your daily life that feels as if it is shifting or dissolving or transmuting into something different.

Whether it's a new job,

A new career,

It's the ending of a cycle,

A habit,

A relationship,

A thought pattern.

I want you to identify the emotions that go along with this dissolution or transmutation.

Much of it is excitement,

Happiness,

There's grief,

Fear,

Uncertainty.

And taking a moment here to review and move through the timeline of your time here on earth and really look at other moments where the same emotion arise attached to a different type of dissolution or transmutation.

Notice what the outcome of that earlier dissolution brought into the body,

Into the mind.

Notice if there tends to be a same emotion or response here.

Does the emotion or the response benefit your growth,

Your ability to step forward?

Does it hinder you or pull you back into cycles?

Just acknowledge here whether this change in your life is pleasurable or painful,

That the two are not opposite,

That they are both a part of our experience,

That we will again and again cycle through pleasure and pain,

Through expansion and contraction.

And the more that we can sit in the present moment in stillness,

In deep and sacred presence,

The more that we can shed and regrow and shed and regrow without an attachment to a certain outcome.

This is where we begin to create that spaciousness around our experiences,

Meaning that instead of reacting to the experience that we create space around it that allows us to give it time to again transmute into something different.

By giving that spaciousness,

By allowing stillness and that lack of reactivity,

We begin to understand that by doing less that we can expand more.

By doing less in the external world that we give more spaciousness to our internal world.

And if we are constantly in thought about the steps that will get us to the future,

We lose sight and connection of the step that's right in front of us in this moment.

So a large part of our spiritual awakening is to simply stop,

To listen,

Not think,

To breathe,

Not act,

And to be,

Not do.

Allow yourself to settle here for a few moments in complete stillness and silence.

.

And remembering that wisdom comes with the ability to be still.

Just look and listen.

No more is needed.

Being still,

Looking and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you.

Let stillness direct your words and actions.

Take a few more moments,

A few more breath cycles here.

Very slowly,

Still in your comfy seat,

You can just maybe wiggle the fingers,

A little bit more physical sensation back into the body.

And even take the right ear over to the right shoulder.

Just breathe in here,

Allow some extension.

You can move to the other side when it feels good.

Come back through center when ready.

Bring hands together at heart center,

Palms together,

Thumbs into sternum.

Let the head lightly bow.

As we step back into our external experience with the material world,

We have an opportunity when things begin to fall away and rise again to take space to find stillness and less reactivity to simply observe and to witness life moving through us and for us.

To let go of accusations or expectations and to find lessons and love for the vast array of experiences that we are gifted.

Do our best to not paint them as good or bad,

Light or dark.

To acknowledge that in deep spaces of darkness that again there will be light and that in that darkness when it does come to know that there is so much to learn there,

So much power and strength and wisdom to be had.

So take more pause,

More silence,

More deep,

Deep presence.

Namaste.
