This is a practice to help us start well,
Offering some good nutrition to ourselves at the very beginning of the day.
You can do this just after you've woken up,
When you're lying in bed or sitting up,
Or if you're sitting with your cup of tea before the momentum of the day begins.
So we start by allowing yourself to sense the physical warm you.
Sensing your body just as it is in this moment.
If you're still in bed you might cuddle in a little bit,
Snuggling into the chair or the sofa.
Just to acknowledge that this is an offering that you're making to yourself.
Acknowledging the gift that this is.
So sensing the signs of life in you.
The movement of your breath.
You might sense a pulse or a warm energy as your body's organs are diligently taking good care of you.
And then sensing the signs of life around you.
Maybe you can hear a bird song or traffic.
Other people starting their day.
Pets stretching and awakening to the day.
And knowing that there are countless other people waking up in this moment.
And that we all wish for a good day ahead for us.
We wish this day to be safe for us and meaningful.
And to contain happiness and wisdom and connection.
A sense of belonging and safety.
Maybe joy.
Maybe the wish that we could go through the day feeling a lightness in our heart.
You can allow your imagination to explore.
Drawing on a memory or you can conjure something fresh.
What comes up when you hear the word thriving?
What scene are you in when you're really flourishing?
Happy and well and vibrantly alive.
What's the landscape like around you?
And coming more deeply into your body's experience.
Can you get a real sense of what this state of thriving feels like?
This precious physical body.
Being able to feel a sense of being really well.
Happy,
Unencumbered,
Very free.
And whatever comes up in your body,
It's a sense of being happy and well.
Very free.
And whatever comes up is perfect.
So we try not to edit our experience.
So sensing what this good experience feels like in your lips,
Your mouth,
Your eyes,
Your forehead and your whole face.
Sensing your jaw and throat.
Upper chest,
Top of your shoulders,
Your shoulder blades.
A sense of happiness in your heart,
In your tummy,
Infusing your whole being.
And any flavor that comes up is perfect.
So we really allow ourselves to accept whatever's coming up for us.
So whether it's a sense of excitement,
That feeling that something really good is going to happen.
A sense of satisfaction or contentment.
Ease.
Maybe a sense of simple warmth.
Just being able to receive the joy of being warm.
It could be a very effervescent type of happiness,
That kind of giddy joy that we sometimes feel.
Maybe a sense of gratitude or deep connection and closeness.
Being really known by someone,
Really knowing someone.
Or that feeling of awe and wonder that we sometimes feel in nature.
An extraordinary place in nature or a great song or a beautiful piece of art.
We've experienced beauty that has simply bowled us over at times.
Really lifts our soul and we feel in that moment greater and more expansive than we usually do.
So allowing yourself to really taste that so that you can savor it and re-receive the nourishment.
Re-receive this superfood for your well-being.
And how does it feel to be nourished?
Sensing the pleasure in receiving good nourishment.
We know what it's like when we eat too much rubbish.
The sense of jitteriness or toxicity.
Maybe a sense of heaviness.
So how does it feel to be well nourished?
Sensing this precious presence of yours.
The pleasure of this body being safe and well in this moment.
Warm and well cared for.
How does it feel to receive the care?
And how does it feel to offer the care?
How does it feel to offer that to yourself?
Because you're the one,
Right?
It all starts with you.
Being able to care all starts here.
And maybe it's possible to feel a sense of gratitude.
Thanking yourself for taking the time to care.
By caring for you,
You are able to care for so many others.
You have a fresh presence to offer.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be free from all harm.
May you always know how to take good care of yourself.
Wishing you a good day ahead filled with good moments.
Thank you.
