How can we offer our care during fraught times, when any word might be the wrong word? This meditation helps us offer our love and support to a loved one who is struggling. Perhaps they are sick - or worried about us being sick. They may be grieving, experiencing depression or facing another challenge. This practice generates a warm loving energy that can enfold and connect our hearts. May it help our loved ones and remind us that we always have something to offer - our loving care.

Hi and welcome.

In this practice we offer our good wishes and energy of friendship and support to someone in our life.

It can be a human or an animal.

And to begin I invite you to find a comfortable position,

Something that's appropriately easeful,

Where you can come back very gently to your body,

Sensing yourself in this moment,

Preparing to offer our care and appreciation.

And we'll begin with three sounds of the bell,

Allowing this person to come fully into your mind.

And we often sense this in very different ways,

So allow it to be natural for you.

Sometimes it looks like a picture of them,

Like a photograph.

Sometimes they appear to be,

Their living presence is right in front of us.

And sometimes we have a sense of them,

Just a sense of what it's like to be close to them.

Sometimes even a memory comes up,

A happy memory.

So however your heart interprets this,

I really trust that.

And we're going to offer them a series of kind wishes from our heart to theirs.

So you can draw your awareness to the area of your heart.

If it's appropriate,

You can experiment with putting a hand over your heart,

Just resting a hand over your heart to see how that connection feels.

And then with this person or animal in our life,

With that person drawn close so that you have a sense of them,

We'll offer these series of wishes.

May you be safe.

May you be so safe.

Seeing this person as flush with health,

Just carefree,

Really safe and protected,

Flush with wellbeing.

May you be safe.

May you be happy.

Visualising this dear person as so well and happy in this moment,

Free of anxiety or worry,

Free of anger,

Really grounded,

Flourishing with health.

May you be happy.

May you be free from all harm.

May you be free from all harm.

Seeing this person as free from all the harmful elements that are in our life.

We have the harm of internal thoughts,

Thoughts that can be really sabotaging.

They can steal our happiness.

So may they be free.

May those thoughts have no and no control,

No sway over this loved one's happiness.

May they be free of any harmful elements in their environment.

It could be anything.

It could be other people,

Could be media,

Just anything harmful in their environment and any other internal harms.

Maybe cells that aren't supporting their health and wellbeing or other sensations that don't help them.

So may they be free of all harm.

Just imagining all of these obstacles or sometimes we think of them as poisons just dissolving and dissolving,

Clearing away,

Leaving this person so free and grounded in their wellbeing,

Able to take care of their emotions,

Their thoughts,

Their body,

Their environment that they move through,

Free of all harm,

Truly supported,

Vibrant with health.

May you step into each moment with grace and ease and seeing this person as so grounded,

So skilled in being able to take care of themselves that they move through each moment with grace and ease.

They can move into a happy moment and be open enough to feel the joy that's there and they can move into a moment that has some difficulty and still have that groundedness,

That unconditional kindness to take care of anything that arises in them.

Any irritation,

Any worry,

Any anger,

That they have the capacity to take care of that.

Really an artist of their wellbeing.

And you might have your own phrase or wish,

Slightly different language,

That you'd like to offer to them in this moment.

You can pause this if you'd like a little bit more time and we'll end with two sounds of the bell.

Thank you so much.
