A Moment For The Mothers
Moms need a second to breathe. This practice is intended to provide mothers with a moment to connect to themselves in a loving way. It is a supportive tool. Moms take a moment to calm all of the outside chatter and tune into divinity of your being.
Transcript
This meditation goes out to all the mothers.
I want you to take a moment to find a seated position.
If it is within your comfort,
I want you to allow yourself to go inward and experience the beauty and love of your own self and your own creation.
You were created divinely.
And while you have given so much to the world outside of you,
I want you to take a moment to tune your energy and attention to the world within you.
As you rest your eyes for a moment and start to lower your shoulders,
Start to pay attention to the inhale and exhale of your chest,
Start to notice your breathing.
I want you to know something in this moment,
This moment that you are taking intentionally for you.
It is well deserved.
I want you to focus on the idea that motherhood is just as much about giving as it is receiving.
You would deserve to receive your own time.
As you start to zone out to the sound of my voice,
I want to draw some attention to your face.
Allow your forehead to ease,
Lowering the eyebrows.
Allow your eyes to rest gently.
Allow your face to become expressionless.
Allow your mouth to become rested.
Stop your tongue from the root of your mouth and just rest there in this moment.
I want you to stop at your face.
And now that it is rested,
I want you to acknowledge the beauty that is there.
I am beautiful.
Allow that to sink in.
I am beautiful.
Allow the beauty that you feel connected and radiating with your face.
Allow it not to be connected to children,
Partnership,
Outside world,
But just to be connected to you because you are beautiful all by yourself.
As you continue to sit there,
I want you to take an elongated breath,
Really allowing yourself to become unified with that idea and create some harmony.
And as you exhale,
I want you to exhale the resistance or the thoughts that are telling you that your beauty is for someone else instead of it being something that you need to hold for yourself.
As we continue to draw attention to our own being,
I want you to notice the placement of your shoulders and your neck.
Are they squunched close together?
If so,
I want you to lower those shoulders,
Lengthen that neck and breathe.
We'll continue to move down to the chest.
Notice what is going on in your chest.
Is it tight?
Is it loose?
When's the last time you paid attention to its movement?
As it rises and lowers,
As you call attention to your heart,
I want you to think about loving you.
Take your hand and place it on your chest.
And if you're ready,
I want you to say to yourself,
I love me.
Continue to breathe,
I love me.
Inhaling harmony and exhaling resistance because you are so worthy of your own love.
I love me.
As you continue to breathe,
I want you to draw your attention down to your belly,
Your womb.
So much goes on in our bellies.
This is where we carry life.
This is where our organs are housed.
This is where our food is suggested.
We also carry fear and worry and frustration down there.
I want you to move your hand from your heart if it's still resting there,
Bring it down to your belly.
Thanking your body for carrying life.
Thanking your body for holding eggs.
Thanking your body for carrying down and housing your organs.
I want you to thank your body for the ancestral connection it has to your mother and your mother's mother and your mother's mother.
Breathe in and out.
Breathe in and out.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
Thanking your body for all,
Your belly for all that it does.
Specifically your organs,
Being grateful for the things that they have given you in this lifetime.
The things that they have given your mother,
The things that they have given your grandmother and all down your whole entire lineage.
Noticing the beauty of your womb,
Your belly.
It is here.
It is alive.
Thanking it for being a creator,
Whether a birth mom or not.
You are a woman.
Women,
We create.
Women,
We are creators.
We birth metaphorically and literally.
And so I want you to take time to thank your body,
Your womb area for birthing,
Birthing ideas,
Birthing people,
Birthing peace,
Birthing love,
Birthing comfort,
Birthing joy.
Inhale harmony,
Exhale resistance.
Inhale harmony,
Exhale resistance.
Standing on down to your legs,
Noticing them.
If they're folded,
Noticing and extending gratitude for them being able to support you.
If they're standing,
Offering that same gratitude,
Thanking you for walking through this life courageously,
Continuously,
Earnestly.
On behalf of others,
But also thanking yourself for keep going up into this moment you have continued to stride forward.
Acknowledging the strength that is taken for your own journey.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
I am strong.
I am a leader.
I am a woman.
I am a warrior.
Understanding all that you are that set you aside or set your titles aside,
But just all that you are as a person.
Bring your attention down to your feet.
What do you notice with your feet?
Are they warm?
Are they cold?
Are they tight?
Bring your hands to your feet,
Creating some comfort.
Do a little massage for yourself.
So often we rely on comfort from others,
The outside world,
Or even worse,
Sometimes we don't provide any comfort for ourselves.
But in the spirit of love and admiration for our own physical being,
I want you to gently offer yourself some comfort by massaging your own feet,
Going in between your toes,
Getting onto the back arches,
Rubbing your fingers down the front parts of your feet,
Bringing light and love there.
They are the base of your entire being.
They have been a literal part of your journey since the womb.
They are a metaphorical piece in your story,
Thanking your feet for continuing to walk.
Some days have been more difficult than others.
Some days have been easier than others,
But you still strive for it.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
Inhaling harmony,
Exhaling resistance.
I am proud of me.
I am here for me.
I love me.
Mommy,
Thank you for joining this meditation.
I hope that you make time for it.
It has been a pleasure sharing this space of motherhood and self-love with you.
