Hello everyone,
Welcome to this meditation for simple living.
A meditation to inspire you to live life in a simple manner.
This practice is an invitation to embrace simplicity,
Helping you release the clutter of the mind to make room for fresh,
Clear perspective.
Give yourself permission to arrive within this moment.
Whatever you were doing before this,
And whatever you have to do after,
Can wait.
For now,
Just feel the weight of your body meeting the chair,
Bed or floor beneath you.
Whatever is beneath you supports you in this moment.
It's a very simple support.
It's not asking for anything in return.
It's just there supporting you in this very moment.
Giving your body permission to sink into the structure.
Your legs,
Bones,
Muscles,
Sinking into the simplicity of the moment.
Just you and the support beneath you.
Breathing in the air around you.
There's no transaction for this air,
No fee.
It's there for you.
Simple,
Real,
Authentic.
It wants nothing in return.
Breathing in the simplicity of it.
Nothing for you to do to gather the air.
You don't need to put hours of work in to get a certain amount.
It's just there in abundance.
Simply natural.
Noticing your body as it gets the support it needs.
As the air nourishes the lungs,
Letting go of tension.
Imagine yourself releasing a big heavy bag of rocks off your back.
Releasing the weight down.
Allowing the straps to slip off your shoulders.
Dropping down,
Down,
Down.
Releasing any need to compete with yourself or others.
Releasing the need to be seen.
The need to be someone.
The need to play the social game.
The political pressures of life.
The group pressure.
The need to fit in.
They all release as the bag drops down away from your shoulders.
What's left is the simplicity of the body.
It's just here.
It doesn't need anything from you.
There's no mind games.
What's left is innocence,
Natural intelligence and effortless being.
No one is watching you right now.
There's no scoreboards here.
You don't have to prove you are relaxing the right way.
Being with the simplistic body.
Simple living.
As you bring yourself back to the feeling of being supported by the environment,
The environment around you,
Notice that you have enough.
Notice that you are enough.
Just gently wiggling your fingers and toes as you wake back up now.
Coming back to the very environment that was here for you before this meditation.
I would just like to end on a quote from Seneca,
An ancient Roman philosopher.
It is not the man who has too little,
But the man who craves more that is poor.
Opening your eyes.
Thank you for listening.
