Hi,
I'm Nora Sofia.
Thank you so much for joining me.
Today,
We're going to embrace our inner child.
Many of us carry hurts,
Times in our past where maybe we didn't feel seen.
Maybe we were misunderstood.
Maybe we cried out and nobody came for us.
And now as adults,
We get to be there for our inner child.
So I want you to just get in a comfortable place,
Whether sitting,
Standing,
Or lying down.
I want you to either close your eyes or leave them open,
Whatever you're most comfortable with.
And then I want you to just take some deep breaths.
In,
Hold as long as you can,
And then release for as long as you can.
Make these breaths refreshing.
Usually I like to take it in for four seconds.
Hold for about six or seven.
And then a long release.
Just allowing our breath to recenter and renew where we are in the moment.
And as you settle in,
I want you to just notice if there are any internal chatter or conversation from our body.
Is there any pain or any tightness anywhere starting in your head,
Your neck and shoulders,
Working all the way down to both legs and your feet?
Just release anything that may be trying to hold on,
Avoiding us from being in the present moment.
When you're ready,
I want you to begin turning your attention inward.
If there are any thoughts or any distractions that might come,
Just notice them.
Then come back.
And as we go inward,
I want you to imagine and visualize a picture of yourself as a child.
I want you to notice what you're wearing.
I want you to notice what your hair looks like.
I want you to notice any emotions that you may be experiencing as this little child.
And then I want you to notice yourself and imagine and visualize you as a wise adult.
I want you to see yourself in your mind's eye.
And then I want you to,
When you're ready,
Introduce yourself as the wise adult to your inner child.
Maybe even let them have a gentle embrace or just holding hands,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
And as the two of you meet,
I want for you as the wise adult to look into the eyes of that beautiful child.
And I want you to let your child know and say,
I am here for you.
I am here for you.
And then I want you as the wise adult to say to your child,
You are heard and you are seen.
And your voice has always mattered.
And then I want you as a wise adult to say to your child,
I understand you.
I understand you.
And then I want your wise adult to tell your beautiful child,
I love you for exactly who you are.
There is nothing that you have to do to be loved.
You are loved and you are loved.
And now I just want you to let your adult and child just be present with each other for a moment.
I want you to feel and notice the trust between them,
The love between them.
I want your wise adult to tell your inner child when they feel overwhelmed by life,
When they're afraid,
When they are just exhausted,
That you're there for them.
When they feel hungry or thirsty,
When they just need a nap,
You will be aware of their needs and you will take care of them.
And then slowly,
If you closed your eyes,
Begin opening them.
Whatever posture that you've taken,
Just begin being aware of the present of what's around you in this moment.
Allow yourself to slowly return and be aware of any changes in your body,
Any feelings of tightness or pain anywhere.
And if you have tension,
Simply tell it to let go.
If it's in your shoulders,
Speak to your shoulders and say,
It's okay and you can release.
Take a few deep breaths.
And then when you're ready,
Come back and know you can return to this beautiful place of center at any time in your day.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Namaste.
