Very true! I had always been taught to interrupt a unhelpful thought with the word “Stop” plus our stop sign or our hand palm facing towards the person.
But I like your suggestion better. To use a different thought or words. Unlike using Do NoT.

Of course! I haven't heard that one before, but this makes so much sense!
It's along the same lines as the words, "I can't" or "I need" and instead using more open ended and positive words like, "I'll try" or "I choose". 😊
