A warm welcome to your evening practice.
My name is Fleur Chambers.
I'm the voice behind the Happy Habit Meditation app and today it is my pleasure to share this time with you on Insight Timer.
So allowing yourself to really settle into a comfortable position.
Perhaps you are on your couch or even in bed and just seeing if you could be 10% more comfortable.
Go on,
It's the end of the day.
You deserve this opportunity to be super comfy and at ease.
Pillows,
Blankets and other creature comforts are all welcome here.
It feels good to care for yourself in this small way and inviting your eyes to gently close.
Signalling to your body that it's time for your attention to move from your outside world to your inner world.
From your external commitments and responsibilities to your inner calm.
Beginning by gently scanning your body for any places of tension or tightness.
Any dull aches or pains.
And offering these places a few deep and nurturing breaths.
Really imagining the flow of air arriving at each of these places.
Each breath soothing you.
Softening these parts of you.
Each breath signalling to your body that here in this moment you are safe.
It's okay to let go.
To unwind.
Noticing the more subtle parts of you that are holding on.
Perhaps to the busyness of today.
To the conversations or events that have left you feeling a certain way.
And offering these places your gentle breath to.
Each breath quietening your mind.
Soothing your body.
Each breath signalling that it's okay to let go of the residue of today.
Each breath an opportunity to cultivate a quiet sense of compassion and understanding within you.
Compassion for the parts of you who tried their best today.
Compassion for the parts of you who didn't get it right all the time.
Understanding of the nature of our perfectly imperfect lives.
Awareness flowing to your breath.
To your beating heart.
To your body resting.
Body and mind coming together into the peace of this moment.
Gently noticing the parts of your body that rest on the surface beneath you.
Deep breath in.
Long smooth exhale.
Letting go a little more into the surface that supports you.
And again deep breath in.
Long smooth exhale.
Sinking a little deeper.
It feels good to unwind.
To let go of this sense of being one step ahead.
It feels good to allow your body this time to rest.
To heal.
To restore.
Here in this moment you are being held.
You are safe.
Chest rising.
Chest falling.
Stomach expanding and contracting.
Your body knows exactly what to do to receive each breath.
Surrendering a little more into the act of being breathed.
Entire body at ease.
Bone softening.
Organ softening.
Blood running gently through your body.
Body restored to its natural state of balance.
Every cell in your body at ease.
Body open to healing.
Body,
Mind and heart ready to receive the gift of sleep.
