This practice will be really helpful if you are working on healing your father wound. We will be talking to your inner child, which can be very powerful when healing your father wound. You may feel a release, which can be very healing and helpful. I hope you enjoy and it's exactly what you needed! Music by: Chris Collins

This is the healing the father wound inner child visualization.

Please get comfortable by sitting up in a chair or lying down,

Whichever makes you more comfortable.

Once you're in a good spot,

Why don't we rest our hands on our legs and put our palms facing up.

This is going to help us receive whatever it is that we need during this visualization.

It can be also helpful to put your feet flat on the ground to help you feel a little more relaxed and grounded.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in and out.

And in and out.

And one more time in and out.

We're going to begin by thinking about a memorable moment when we were younger and we didn't feel that our father gave us what we wanted and needed or treated us the way that we wanted and needed to be treated by him.

Think about how young you were in this situation.

What did you look like at the time?

What were you wearing?

What did your hair look like?

What was going on with your body language while you were in this situation with your father?

What sorts of facial expressions were you going through?

Now,

In the same situation,

I want you to think about what your father looked like.

How old do you think he was?

What was he wearing?

What was he saying to you?

What was his body language like?

And what sorts of facial expressions do you remember him having?

Now,

I want you to think about the emotions you were feeling during this time.

Were you angry,

Sad,

Scared?

Whatever you were feeling,

Just begin to feel it.

Like you're really back in that situation.

And it may be a little bit uncomfortable,

But we're going to soon start to release that feeling.

Now,

I want you to start picturing the same situation,

But just a little differently.

I want you to still hold on to that image of the little you in front of your father during the situation that you were previously thinking about.

But now,

I want you to picture a version of your father that you wanted and needed there for you.

Imagine that their body language is changing right in front of the little you.

It's becoming more relaxed and more calm.

And it's totally different than how it was before.

It's how you wanted them to act in that situation.

Imagine that their facial expressions are starting to change right in front of you.

They're also becoming more relaxed and calm.

Now,

Imagine that your father is saying something completely different to you than what he was saying in the original scene.

Or maybe he previously didn't say anything to you,

But now he's talking.

Your visualized father is telling you that they're sorry for treating you the way that they did.

They're telling you that they acted this way because of how they were treated as a child.

But they're also letting you know that that's no excuse anymore.

And they're going to work on themselves so that this isn't their reality anymore.

They're not going to treat you this way anymore.

And again,

They're letting you know that they see you and they're sorry.

It may even be helpful at this time to imagine your visualized father hugging the little you,

Transferring their new comforting energy onto the little you.

And I also want you to take a moment and think if there's anything else that you want your visualized father to say to you.

Go ahead and picture that they're saying that to the little you.

And you might begin to feel a release right now.

And that's okay.

You're starting to heal your father wound and giving yourself the attention and love that you needed and wanted from your father when you were a child.

And now that you're older,

You're capable of going back and giving your younger self whatever it is that they needed then.

You can release your past emotions and you don't need to bring them into your future.

Now,

I want you to imagine the little version of you starts to walk out of the scene that you were just in with your new visualized father.

And as they're walking out,

They begin to transform into the now adult you.

And you begin to walk into a scene of something that you may be doing today.

Maybe it's just sitting in your house or apartment,

Just something totally normal.

And I want you to take note of how you feel right now.

Do you feel a little bit lighter,

Empowered that you're able to give yourself what you needed from your father when you were younger that you never got?

Just know that we have the ability to heal ourselves.

We don't need to wish that we did had a different childhood or a different father.

It's our jobs to heal our past so that we can have a great future and we can have whatever life we want.

We just need to heal ourselves and believe it.

Okay,

The visualization is now over.

Please spend some time journaling about this visualization.

Write about what you released during the visualization and then write about how you felt after the release.

How good it felt,

What you felt in particular,

And feel free to repeat as many times as you need.
