Breathing Light Into Our Fears: Election 2020 & Beyond

When you fear the election results, the pandemic, protests or major climate changes, you suffer more than you need to. You don’t have to buy into fear. This meditation will guide you to breathe Light into fear and choose peace no matter how the outside world appears. A new era is here. The past is gone. All is in Divine Order. Everything is moving towards love but sometimes we have to go thru the darkness to get to the light. "The Light has come." (Lesson 75 Course in Miracles)

Transcript

Begin by settling into your space wherever you're sitting.

Noticing the body,

Noticing the chair,

The floor beneath you.

Just bringing all of your awareness to the present moment,

Here and now.

Finding your breath,

Taking several slow,

Deep breaths.

And as you breathe in,

Just know that you're breathing in.

And as you breathe out,

Just be aware of breathing out.

Take this time to just be mindfully present to the life force,

The God force,

Breathing through you,

In and out.

Inhaling deeply from your diaphragm,

Bring it up into your lungs,

And then slowly exhale.

Repeating that sequence a few times to just get relaxed and present.

Breathing in calm,

Breathing out stress.

Breathing in love and breathing out fear.

Breathing into your heart and breathing out all the thoughts in your head.

Imagine an eraser in the mind just erasing your thoughts back and forth,

Wiping the thoughts away.

The past is over,

The future is not here.

You want to be present right now.

Using the mind to watch and wait for the next thought after you've wiped them away.

And actually wait for the next thought to come,

Not to see what it will be,

But to simply have no thoughts.

And knowing that space between thoughts is where your true self lies.

Your authentic being,

Your spirit,

Your highest God self.

So turning off all these thoughts like we're turning off the TVs,

The computer screens,

The cell phones,

And we're fully coming into our consciousness,

Our truth,

And the reality of God,

The reality of love.

Where we can be in the world,

But not of the world.

Being able to be a witness to what we're seeing in these times without the labels and assessments.

So I invite you to put a hand against your heart now.

Breathe in and out of your heart,

Just breathing naturally,

But focus your awareness on the heart,

The spiritual heart.

See if you can kind of feel the movement of the breath there.

Allowing the heart to open to the presence of love.

And as you breathe out,

You might just say the word love as you breathe out.

You can say it aloud if you like or to yourself.

Just a mantra of the word love.

And keep coming back to this place in the heart when your mind gets distracted.

Say the word love and ask for love to heal you,

To open your heart,

And to shift your mind.

From grievances to forgiveness,

From fear to love.

So I invite you to put into your heart what appears to be wrong and bad in the world out there.

The election,

The pandemic,

The protests,

The climate changes,

All these things that we worry about,

We fear.

And really all that's needed is forgiveness and a shift from fear to love as we look at these so-called problems.

From a place beyond this world where there's only love and peace,

Where we're all one,

And where separation from God is our only problem.

So whenever something troubling appears out there and you get stuck in fear,

Just surrender the mind's idea and fears of what could go wrong.

You don't have to buy into the fear that's out there amongst all the people around you or on the news.

You can just breathe the light into your fears.

Breathe the light into your doubts.

Breathe the light into your worries.

So I invite you to just hold the situation as it is.

For example,

There's a disagreement in politics,

Differing perspectives,

Fear of each other.

There's a pandemic.

There's disagreement on how to deal with that pandemic.

That's just the facts of it.

That's the truth of the matter is that this is just what is.

And so we're going to focus on just witnessing what is and surrendering labels we have or the assessments we have about it and breathe light into our fears.

Because it's our fear of something that causes the anxiety,

The panic,

The suffering.

The fear of someone or something.

So just putting into your heart whatever it is that you want to release,

Any whatever fear you have right now.

And just breathe the light into it.

Maybe just be a little more deeply there into the heart.

Imagine a ray of light from the heavens or from the sun or the moonlight,

Just like rays of beautiful golden white light just shining down upon you.

You just breathe into that light and allow it to soften your fears,

Your doubts,

Your worries.

Maybe you're feeling anxious.

Again,

Just breathe into that anxiousness feeling.

No need to judge it.

It's not good or bad,

Right or wrong.

You just want to say hello to it.

Be friendly to it.

Really acknowledge its presence and breathe light into it.

Breathe compassion into it.

It's okay if you feel the way you do.

And sometimes just soothing yourself with,

Sometimes just rubbing that,

The diaphragm or the heart or wherever you're feeling the anxiety in your body.

Just go to that place and just do little circles of sort of just soft caress.

It's just soothing.

Sometimes a physical practice can help us calm down.

Release those fears.

Breathe into God.

So using whatever allies you need,

The breath or a body practice.

Could be movement of Tai Chi or Qigong.

Sometimes just with your hands,

Just pushing the energy down into the earth.

Whatever the energy is that's keeping you from living in the light and being who you really are.

Telling yourself it's all going to be okay.

You will get through this.

It might not always be easy.

We have may have our moments of anger,

Frustration or grievances.

It's okay.

But we keep coming back to reminding ourselves who we really are,

The resilience we have and the power we have with our mind to create what we want.

How we want to feel,

How we want to show up.

So coming back to your heart,

Breathing in and out of the heart.

Let's listen to love.

Let's listen to the perception from a spiritual mind.

The one mind with God.

If we were to listen to the voice of God,

The voice of love,

What would it say about this day in history?

About the things in our world that are challenging.

All is in divine order.

Everything is completing its karma.

This is all a transformation.

Everything is being moved towards love and compassion through our forgiveness.

Sometimes we have to go through the darkness to get to the light.

Only in God can we know we are safe and protected.

And God's grace is required to move through these times.

So I invite you to invite that grace into your heart.

In the coming weeks,

The coming months,

To ask for God's grace.

To ask to be able to move through and see with light.

To see with eyes of light around all that we're seeing that is dark.

So we hold the outcome of this election in our heart.

We surrender it to the higher divine plan.

We surrender all our ideas of what we think should or shouldn't be.

And we remember who we are.

And when it gets hard,

We just come back to our heart.

To this inner place.

We hold the fear,

Breathe light into the fear,

Or the anger or the frustration or the anxiety.

Tell ourselves we are safe.

Ask for grace.

Ask how can we be of service.

I invite you to reflect on who do you want to be in these times.

How do you want to show up?

How do you want to be a part of this?

How do you want to be a part of this?

How do you want to be a part of this?

Breathing in and breathing out.

Allowing yourself to receive the grace to allow God's light into your heart.

Breathe into peace.

You can choose peace no matter what is happening.

You can ask to see the situation through God's eyes.

Through eyes of forgiveness.

Where everyone and everything including yourself is innocent.

There is no right or wrong in love.

There is no kind of love that will free us from our suffering.

From our panics,

From our anxieties,

From our resentments and grievances.

The question often becomes do we want to be right or do we want to be free?

And now I'd like to read lesson 75 or portions of it from A Course in Miracles.

It feels very appropriate for tonight and tomorrow and the days to come.

The light has come.

You are healed and you can heal.

The light has come.

You are saved and you can save.

You are at peace and you bring peace with you wherever you go.

Darkness and turmoil and death have disappeared.

The light has come.

Today we celebrate the happy ending to your long dream of disaster.

There are no dark dreams now.

The light has come.

Today the time of light begins for you and everyone.

It is a new era in which a new world is born.

The old one has left no trace upon it in its passing.

Today we see a different world because the light has come.

Today we will accept the new world as what we want to see.

No shadows from the past remain to darken our sight and hide the world forgiveness offers us.

We will be given what we desire.

We will to see the light.

The light has come.

We do not want to see the ego's shadow on the world today.

We see the light and in it we see Heaven's reflection lie across the world.

The light has come.

I have forgiven the world.

I have forgiven myself.

Dwell not upon the past today.

Keep a completely open mind.

Washed of all past ideas and clean of every concept you have made.

You have forgiven the world today.

You can look upon it now as if you never saw it before.

You do not know yet what it looks like.

You merely wait to have it shown to you.

And while you wait,

Repeat this beautiful verse.

The light has come.

I have forgiven the world.

The light has come.

The light has come.
