This is Nitya,

With Nitya living a wellness,

Holistic refuge.

Find yourself lying down comfortably.

Feel your body becoming soft against the floor,

Your yoga mat,

Or maybe your bed.

Smile softly to yourself,

Taking a deep breath in and exhaling slowly.

And with these mindful breaths,

Add sound to the exhale if it feels good.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Let your eyes float closed.

Let the thoughts fall away.

Let all that your day has been and may still be drift away like clouds in the sky.

I'm going to read a couple original poems in between a guided relaxation.

Why carry the weight of your world on your shoulders,

In your heart?

Give yourself this moment,

This opportunity to set it all aside.

And maybe you pick it up later.

Maybe you realize you can let a lot of it go.

The I-ness,

The unconditional freedom to be your self in all the messiness of you that there is or may have been,

But has been edited out for the comfort of someone else.

The ways we discriminate against ourselves in order to be accepted and all the while knowing it is a false placement.

For some aspects of your brilliance,

Your selfness had to step away.

It's there,

You feel it,

The ache to relax,

The ache to not have to be so careful for what would be the reaction if you step out of that box you think the world has put you in.

Rather,

Dear one,

You willingly put yourself there.

What is really your inside,

Just as one shape to conform is a prison within a prison within another?

Perhaps then we are all spirals,

Abstract and deliciously messy,

Like a child dipping their finger in the paint and smearing it along the table,

Over their clothes and onto the floor until there is no space between the creation and the artist,

The self and the you witnessing that self,

That I-ness standing there,

A kibbo,

Be that,

Whether a roar or a purring,

Whether a spark or a sunbeam,

The unconditional freedom to be your self.

Breathing in,

Breathing out slowly,

Breathing out into your right leg,

Hold the breath as you squeeze and tense that leg tightly,

Tightly,

Tightly,

Exhaling,

Let go.

Breathing now into the left leg,

Squeeze,

Tense,

Tightly,

Tightly,

Let it go.

Breathe in now as you pull the perineum up,

Clenching the buttocks,

Hold like a basket,

Let it all go.

Breathe now into your abdomen and swell your belly into a big,

Big,

Big balloon.

Ah,

Let it go.

Breathe into the abdomen,

A big dirigesuasam,

Three-part breath,

Breathe into the abdomen,

Lift it up to the chest,

Carry it all the way to the collarbone,

Sip in as much air as you can.

Open your mouth and let it all go,

Let it go,

Let it go,

Let it go.

Feel that lightness of being.

Stretch your hands wide now and breathe your hands into fists,

Tense into the muscles of your arms and let go.

Shrug your shoulders up,

Exhale as you push shoulders down,

Inhale,

Wrap your arms around yourself,

Love yourself just the way you are.

Let your arms and shoulders relax,

Let your head softly move side to side.

Take a deep breath and squeeze all the muscles and features of your beautiful face,

Forehead,

Eyes,

Nose,

Mouth.

Exhale,

Exhale,

Release,

Release,

Release.

Feel a wave of deep relaxation washing over your body.

You are so still and so quiet in this moment.

So still,

So quiet in this moment.

Do you hear the river rushing by?

Do you see the dappled sunlight play on the forest floor,

Illumined and shadowed without discrimination?

It is just chance as to where you are planted and whether you are given the source to grow.

Still you can reach and still you can lean into the light.

For the light it plays and dances and shifts if you're paying attention.

You cannot curse the way of the light for it is up to you to learn how to recognize the light when it presents itself.

If you asked the twisted tree and if you asked the creeping vine,

They would tell you the secrets of the light and how it shapes who they are,

Who they've been and who they are becoming.

Therein lies the great question,

Who are you?

Who have you been and who are you becoming?

If you asked the twisted tree and if you asked the creeping vine,

They would tell you the secrets of the light and how it shapes who they are,

Who they've been and who they are becoming.

Therein lies the great question,

Who are you?

Who have you been and who are you becoming?

Deep breath in,

Exhale slowly.

Begin to focus on the breath,

Deepening the inhale,

Lengthening the exhale.

Enjoy the stillness and silence that allows you to connect to your true authentic self.

Seeing more and more clearly the crystal of light that is in your heart,

That is eternal and indestructible,

Ever brilliant,

Ever radiant with love,

Boundless,

Boundless love.
