This is Nitya with Nitya Living.
Take a moment to get comfortable.
You can be sitting up or lying down.
Begin to tune into the breath.
Notice how the breath is.
Does it feel free or constricted?
We're going to do a chanting healing celebration in this session.
And first let's soothe the nervous system by breathing three-part Durga swasam breaths.
Breathing into the abdomen,
Fill the belly,
Take the breath to the chest.
Lift it all the way up to the collarbone.
Really fill the lungs and audibly exhale.
Make as much sound on the exhale as feels good for you.
Moving back into the next breath,
Belly expanded into the chest,
Up to the collarbone.
Sip,
Sip,
Sip,
Sip,
Open the mouth.
Continue with a few more of these big three-part breaths.
Take in the silence within you and the sense of relief as you are letting these breaths go and letting tensions,
Stress,
And anxiety go.
Maybe grief,
Disappointment,
All the heavy emotions,
Letting them go.
Freeing your body,
Mind,
And spirit to this now beautiful moment.
I'm going to read a poem by Antonio Machado.
Everything passes on and everything remains,
But our lot is to pass on,
To go on making paths,
Paths across the sea.
I never sought glory nor to leave my song in the memory of man.
I love those subtle worlds where weightless and graceful as bubbles of soap.
I like to watch as they paint themselves in sunlight and scarlet floating beneath the blue sky,
Trembling suddenly then popping.
I never sought glory.
Traveler,
Your footprints are the path and nothing more.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
By walking,
The path is made and when you look back,
You'll see a road never to be trodden again.
Traveler,
There is no path,
Only trails across the sea.
Sometime past in that place where today the forests are dressed in barbs.
A poet was heard to cry.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
Beat by beat,
Verse by verse.
The poet died far from home.
He lies beneath the dust of a neighboring land.
As he walked away,
He was seen to weep.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
Beat by beat,
Verse by verse.
When the goldfinch cannot sing,
When the poet is a pilgrim,
When prayer will do us no good.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
Beat by beat,
Verse by verse.
And so it is we come to this space of feeling our silence and feeling our stillness.
Traveler,
There is no path,
Only trails along the sea.
Om Shanti,
Om Shanti,
Om Shanti,
Om.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
Traveler,
There is no path,
Only trails across the sea.

The path is made by walking.

And the silence washes over you,
Wrapping you in a cocoon of comfort,
Love,
And care.
Breathe quiet breaths here.
This is a safe space for you to release all that you've been holding and carrying,
My friend.
Just let it go.
Whether it's through tears,
Or pounding fists,
Or wailing.
Just let it out.
Free yourself from this prison of emotions that you're holding on to.
And feel the feelings.
They aren't to be feared.
On the other side of them is relief.
It's possibly even a touch of serenity.
And each step forward,
Step by step,
You make the path of your own divine life.
You cannot go back.
You can only move forward from this very now moment.
Know that that is a gift and a blessing.
Bring the best of your life,
Of yourself,
Forward.
It's okay to let everything else go.
Traveler,
There is no path.
The path is made by walking.
Beat by beat,
Verse by verse.
Moment by moment,
Breath by breath.
Om Shan Ti Shan Ti Shan Ti Hum Be well.
Thank you.
