A short meditation for finding gratitude for your body and connecting to your mind and body. When you become conscious and aware through mindfulness practices such as meditation and yoga, you get to choose what you think, believe, feel, and do. Personal empowerment is represented by inner -strength, bodily autonomy, and having ownership over one’s self. Personal empowerment is marked by internal freedom and peace and this is where body acceptance and body peace play a vital role. Remember that you are beautifully made, inside and out.

This is a meditation for body peace and personal empowerment.

Let's begin in a seated position and take some time to tune into our body.

Bring your attention to your feet.

Look at them,

Perhaps touch them or wiggle your toes.

Acknowledge the work your feet have done for you,

The paths they have walked and silently giving thanks to them for carrying you through this journey we call life.

Now move up to your legs.

Look at your legs and perhaps rub your hands up and down them.

Give thanks to your legs for their existence,

That they let you walk,

Run or perhaps swim.

Next move on to your stomach.

Rub your hands over your stomach and give thanks to your stomach for digesting food,

For playing a role in all your movements and for its support to your large and small intestine.

Now your hands rub them together gently and look at them.

Acknowledge how they help you do all the necessary actions in life,

Getting your food to your mouth,

Drawing or perhaps painting,

Turning the pages of your favorite book or perhaps even holding the hand of a loved one.

Say thank you.

Now bring your attention to your face.

Rub your hands over your eyes that let you see the beauty in your life,

Your nose that enables you to smile beautiful smiles,

Your mouth for letting you savor different tastes and allowing you to express yourself.

Send gratitude for these.

And finally bring your hands to your heart and thank your heart for pumping blood to all parts of your body and for giving you the ability to feel and to love.

Now let your hands rest lightly on your lap and close your eyes and start to bring awareness to your breath.

Deep breath in and exhale out.

Be grateful for this magnificent body that moves so freely and wow and looks so good.

See yourself healthier than you have ever felt before.

Focus on your body's function over its form and thank it for getting you through the day.

Think of all the ways you use your body and all it is capable of.

Instead of critiquing yourself in the mirror,

Rather look at it and think of all the places it has taken you to and all the experiences it has allowed you to have.

Instead of thinking how to change the way you look,

Ask yourself what your body needs to function with more strength and ease.

We all have this inner voice that berates and belittles us and we think we don't have what it takes to succeed.

The way we speak to ourselves matter.

You live most of your life in your head so make sure it's a nice place to be.

To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness.

Love yourself first and everything else will fall into place and in saying that not one drop of your self-worth should depend on others acceptance of you.

In the quest for self-empowerment you need to connect mind and body.

The foundation for self-empowerment can be developed by reconnecting how we feel on the inside and how we look on the outside because that's what truly creates a balanced life.

A journey isn't about becoming a different person.

It's about loving who you are right now.

Look within to find your treasures.

Now let's bring in our centering thoughts.

I am beautifully and wonderfully made inside and out.

I am beautifully and wonderfully made inside and out.

I am beautifully and wonderfully made inside and out.

Now as you stay in this awareness,

In this loving stillness,

In this presence,

Breathing in,

Letting go and allowing yourself to go deeper within until you hear my voice bringing you out of this meditation.

Slowly bring your attention back to your breath in your body.

Deep breath in and exhale out.

Bring your hands up overhead in prayer position.

Bring them down to your third eye,

The spot between your two eyes.

May your thoughts about yourself being empowering and positive.

Now bring your hands down to your lips.

May your words to yourself be kind and compassionate.

And finally bring your hands down to your heart.

May your heart be filled with love and kindness for yourself.

Slowly open your eyes.

Cherish your body by eating right and have a short daily workout routine to redefine the unrealistic body image in yourself by bestowing that a healthy body is a perfect body.

Prioritize mindfulness,

Nutrition,

Movement and sleep to help you feel your best.

Have a wonderful day.
