Inner child healing meditation.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Whether or not that is in a seated position or lying down on your bed,
On the couch,
On the floor.
Just find a place that feels comfortable,
That feels supportive and nurturing in your body.
And as you find this comfortable place,
I invite you to close your eyes.
As you close your eyes,
Allow your eyes to soften down towards your cheeks and allow your cheeks to soften down towards your mouth.
And then relax through your jaw,
Dropping into your body,
Feeling the ground supporting your body and maybe allowing your shoulder muscles,
Your legs,
Your arms to do a little less work.
Allow your body to feel supported in this moment.
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose.
Breathing in through the nose,
Deep breath in,
Filling up your belly,
Filling up your chest.
And exhale slowly through the mouth.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to relax,
To release any tension.
Begin to feel your body becoming more at ease with each breath.
Now I want you to imagine yourself standing in a beautiful,
Sunny forest.
There are beautiful trees around you.
Maybe you're seeing a lot of green.
Perhaps it's fall.
There's a lot of yellows and oranges that you're finding in the trees.
You see tall,
Beautiful trees surrounding you in this warm and sunny forest.
You hear the leaves moving in the breeze.
This forest represents your inner world,
A place of safety and comfort.
You begin to walk through the forest.
As you walk through the forest,
You can feel your feet on the ground beneath you.
You feel the leaves underneath your feet.
You just begin to walk.
And as you walk,
You notice a small,
Younger version of yourself up ahead.
This is your inner child,
That little girl up ahead.
When you start to walk towards her,
Notice how old she is.
Is she 5,
9,
12?
Take a moment to notice this little girl,
Your inner child.
Notice how old she is.
And as you approach her,
You move towards her with an open heart.
Eventually,
You come face to face with this little girl.
You kneel down next to her,
And you grab her little hand.
She feels the warmth in your hand.
As you look her in the eyes,
You look her in the eyes with warmth,
With love,
And let her know that you are here.
That you are here to love her and protect her.
Tell this little girl that you accept her just as she is.
You tell her that she is worthy of so much love and happiness.
As you hold her hand,
And you comfort her,
And remind her of how loved she is,
Ask that little girl if there is anything she wants to share with you.
Be open to her feelings and her emotions.
She might not be saying anything to you,
And if that is the case,
Just note of her presence and her emotion.
Whatever it is you are experiencing,
As you ask her if there is anything she wants to share with you,
Remind that little girl how loved she is.
You go on to tell her that it's okay to let go of the past.
Actually,
It's safe to let go of the past.
That inner child doesn't need to protect you anymore.
As the older you looks directly into the eyes of the younger you,
Tell her that you've got this.
Tell her that you are here now.
You are here present with her,
To love her and protect her.
That's not her job anymore.
You've got her.
Offer your love and healing energy surrounding her in a warm,
Comforting light.
This warm,
Comforting,
Beautiful light is encompassing your inner child.
This light now begins to encompass you,
The older you.
It's encompassing both of you together,
Merging your inner child and your present self into one.
Feel the love and the healing energy flowing through you as you become whole and complete together.
Embrace yourself tightly,
Knowing that you are complete.
And now for a moment,
Express gratitude to your inner child for allowing this connection to happen and this healing.
Thank her for her resilience and her strength.
Visualize your inner child feeling safe and happy.
As we conclude this meditation,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back into the room that you're in.
You might take a few deeper breaths,
Gently wiggling your fingers and your toes.
And when you're ready,
Opening your eyes.
Please remember that this inner child healing meditation,
It's a practice.
It's a practice that you can return to whenever you need to nurture that inner child.
My hope is that you carry this love and healing from this meditation with you.
