Find a comfortable seat with your spine upright but relaxed,
Lengthening the back of the neck,
Feeling any movements,
Allowing any adjustments before coming into stillness and taking a few deep breaths.
For this meditation you can choose an intention or a task that is requiring your courage at this time,
Becoming clear on what that is.
Then imagining that at the end of a path which you're walking down,
So visualising yourself walking,
You're walking gracefully and swiftly down the path,
Taking one foot in front of the other.
With grace and ease you're walking swiftly towards the intention or task that you would like to complete.
Take one foot in front of the other.
You can ask what the path looks like.
Is it well travelled?
Have many people done this before?
Can they show you the way with their footprints or is this something new for you?
Are you bringing something new into the world,
Into your life?
Maybe you're the first in your lineage.
What does your path look like?
And taking long,
Swift steps,
Moving forward.
Maybe you feel the wind on your body,
On your skin.
And as you're walking you realise there is a tiger walking behind you,
The tiger signifying courage,
Determination,
Potential power.
You feel the power of the tiger with each step as it's walking,
Its muscles moving.
It's walking with you.
The tiger is your courage,
Your determination,
Your potential power,
Which is in the tiger always visible even when it's walking.
Taking slow steps you can see the power that's contained within its body,
In its limbs.
And you continue to walk swiftly and gracefully with the tiger.
And with each step you start to realise more and more that the tiger is you.
Your legs and arms become the legs of the tiger,
Your hands and feet become the paws of the tiger with great strength.
Your body becoming the body of the tiger and your head being the head of the tiger.
And you continue to walk confidently with courage,
Swiftly towards whatever intention.
And as you're walking as the tiger you can feel the way you're walking,
The way a tiger walks with grace and ease.
And each movement,
No matter how slow or calm,
Contains that same potential power that you can see when the tiger fights or when it runs.
You continue along the path,
Becoming closer and closer.
And you know that all the determination,
Courage and potential power that you need is inside of you,
Is you.
Jessica Macbeth writes that,
Daily life takes courage.
Ordinary life requires courage and anything beyond the ordinary,
Anything extraordinary takes even more courage.
She says,
It does not take courage to stay in self-pity,
To remain there.
It takes courage to be compassionate and wise.
It takes courage to be full of joy.
So know that every act in your life,
Every act that's taking you towards feeling more joyful and more alive,
Is an extraordinary act of courage.
I want that all the courage and determination and potential power is within you,
For all the paths you choose.
And you can take another couple of deep breaths.
Move your fingers and toes and come back to the space.
