Hello and welcome to your meditation.
My name is Kristin Penhall and I'm so glad that you're here.
Today's meditation will be all about honoring a loved one.
This loved one could be a friend,
Family member,
A friend who has become family perhaps,
Anyone who we would like to honor in a deep way.
And as we get started today,
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Making sure that you still feel like you are in a position where you can be active and awake.
We want to be relaxed but also mindful and aware.
Once we have settled in this space,
We can make a commitment to stillness,
Setting that intention that we are making this space and time for ourselves to have this important practice.
And begin witnessing your breath,
The lightness of the inhales and exhales.
Just noticing the movement in your body as you breathe in,
The belly and chest rise,
And as you breathe out,
And the body surrenders.
Moving into the heart space,
Bring your awareness there.
Begin bringing to mind a person you would like to honor for this practice.
And begin seeing that person as if they were right in front of you.
You see them as their happiest and healthiest self.
And begin to bring to your mind and your heart what it is that makes them so unique and so beloved to you.
What characteristics do they hold in their own unique way that makes them so dear to you?
Bringing to mind any specific memories that you have of this person or with this person,
Or perhaps if they've crossed over,
Maybe stories you've heard about this person from others.
But honoring these life moments that this person has had.
These memories and stories that you hold of them.
And hold them in your heart as well.
And without moving any other parts of your body,
Take your hands together and rub them,
Creating some warmth.
And while you're creating this warmth and you're in this space of creation,
I want you to think of some well wishes you have for this loved one,
This special being.
And then when your hands are feeling nice and warm,
Placing them over the heart to seal in those wishes.
And rubbing your hands together again,
Creating some warmth,
Thinking of one thing you're grateful of or grateful for to yourself.
What is one thing you're grateful about yourself?
Or one thing you're grateful for that only you do for yourself.
And you're going to plant your hands on your heart again,
Sealing in that self gratitude and self love.
And when it feels good to you dropping the hands,
Taking a nice deep inhale in through the nose and exhaling with a sigh.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and begin to immerse yourself back in the outside world.
Thank you so much.
I hope you're having a great day.
And thank you for practicing with me.
