Today's meditation is going to focus on feeling grounded and present in your own life.

I know right now it's really difficult for me to not let my mind creep into the future,

What ifs the what is society going to look like a year from now or two years from now and I feel like I'm not the only one with those wandering thoughts.

This meditation has been very helpful for letting go of the future tripping and anchoring myself in the moment and so I'm excited to share it with you today.

Before we begin find a place where you can be quiet and free from distraction for the duration of the meditation and get settled in.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,

Drawing the breath all the way down to the very bottom of your belly,

Feeling as it expands and then gently releasing the breath through your mouth,

Allowing yourself to breathe at your own natural rhythm,

Noticing the sensation of the clothing upon your skin,

The way it shifts with each breath that you take.

Notice the temperature of the air as it passes through your nostrils,

Travels down into your lungs and the temperature of your breath as you exhale,

Feeling the warmth against your lips.

As you continue to breathe,

Encourage each breath to be drawn in a little bit deeper,

Each rhythmic breathing cycle a little bit slower,

Allowing yourself to fall deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Become aware of the weight of your body upon the surface below you,

The points of pressure where your body meets the surface,

And envision yourself sinking into the surface below,

As if the gravity got a little bit stronger and you're being pulled down,

Down into the ground below,

Your body becoming even heavier,

Feeling the sinking yet pleasant sensation drying you deeper and deeper down.

And as you're being pulled downward in a calming,

Blissful state,

Roots extend down below you,

Branching off from your body,

Pulling you even deeper down.

Each one of these roots is comprised of values,

Of core beliefs that you hold true,

The very pieces that make up the most inner part of you,

Branching downward,

Pulling you deeper,

As you continue to breathe a little bit slower,

A little bit deeper,

Allowing your mind and your body to become clear,

Calm,

Calm,

And unattached.

Each root pulls you down,

Planting you firmly into the earth below,

Providing you a safe stability.

You are firm yet flexible at the same time,

And your roots give you a solid comfort as they pull you down,

As you feel heavier and heavier,

Allowing any stress or tension to simply float away,

As you continue to be drawn down even deeper and become even heavier with each breath that you take.

And these roots that branch off of you,

That drive deep down into the earth below,

Give you strength and they allow you to endure anything that comes your way.

Each root built up of your morals,

Of your beliefs,

Gives you strength and pulls you down even deeper,

Deeper into relaxation,

Deeper into the moment,

Deeper into yourself,

Focusing on the rhythm of your breathing and the heaviness of your body,

Letting go of any thoughts that might pass through your mind,

Allowing each root to become stronger,

To draw you down even deeper into the moment,

Into relaxation,

Into relaxation,

Into soothing security.

Take a deep breath and gently wiggle your fingers and your toes,

Bringing awareness back into your body,

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

This is a great meditation to practice whenever you're stressed out,

Whenever you feel like you're living in a state of reaction.

Anytime that you need it,

You can always pop on back and revisit this meditation.

I hope that you're staying safe and healthy.

And in the moment,

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Have a wonderful day.

Namaste.

I really enjoyed it! So much that I would have liked to enjoy a few moments of stillness before you called me back. The change in your voice from one moment to the next was so drastic it startled me.
