Welcome to Glow Yoga and Wellness San Francisco.
I am Natasha,
Your host and Glow self-care nerd-in-chief.
I opened Glow in 2011 and been running it for over 11 years and in no way I'm calling myself an expert,
But I'm here to start a conversation and share my favorite tools of applying yoga practices to help us,
Busy,
Anxious cucumbers,
To heal our pain,
Reduce stress and generally feel better,
Understand ourselves,
Connect with ourselves and find inner peace.
In our contemporary lifestyle,
We've learned to rush and not to wait.
We have so many more conveniences these days,
But less and less time,
More medicine than ever before,
Yet less wellness.
Everybody's inflamed with something anxious,
Have sleeping problems,
You name it.
And we think that we can pop a pill,
Eat a gummy or click a button to fix all of our problems.
The truth overall,
We have to slow the hell down in order for our bodies to heal physically,
Mentally and emotionally.
I want to share my healing story using holistic self-care,
Yoga,
Breath work,
Stress management and resistance training,
I was able to heal my excruciating neck pain.
I suffered all through my twenties,
But it's a lifelong care.
It's all about holding a proper posture,
Always strengthening,
Keeping my stress and inflammation down to prevent my chronic pain from ever returning again,
Because I know it will the moment I'll stop doing my self-care.
And in this podcast,
I'm intended to share my favorite ways that helped me now in my forties,
Maintain my health and deal with stress and life in general.
It's hard running a business.
Together here,
We'll do breathing exercises,
Meditation,
Stretches,
All things yoga,
Spirituality,
And pain relief.
As I'll progress into the podcast,
I promise there will be some kind of thoughtful order to the episodes,
But to begin with,
I'll drop here my morning and evening self-care routine,
How I start and finish a mindful day,
The actual 15 first minutes of my morning and last 15 minutes of my day.
These particular breathing exercises are just two of hundreds that I use.
I use them to reduce mental overwhelm,
Find clarity and improve my sleep.
And I know those are the foundational blocks of my wellbeing.
Hope you can enjoy these practices and please leave a review.
Let me know how they feel.
I am so looking forward to sharing all the wonderful tools with you and learn and grow together.
And before we disconnect,
Let's enjoy a yummy neck and shoulder stretch.
Come up to stance.
Take space,
Wide legged stance.
Extend your arms wide out.
Take a deep inhale,
Stretch your palms away from you and then interlace your fingers behind your low back.
On the next inhale,
Squeeze your fingers together,
But pull your palms and arms apart.
Feel the deep opening in the front of your chest,
Shoulders.
Look up towards the sky,
Feel a stretch in your eyes,
Your neck.
Take a deep inhale and shrug your shoulders towards your ears.
Inhale more.
And as you exhale,
Release it all down,
Unlace your fingers and notice how you feel.
Good job.
Try doing this stretch once an hour.
So good for your mental health,
Neck and shoulder pain prevention.

Peace and health from one and only San Francisco.
Until next time.
