
Self-Love And Appreciation
An intentional, 19-minute relaxing journey to self-love and gratitude. This practice takes you through all the senses of the body and invites you to experience the wonder of simply being alive - when you think about your body and everything you’re capable of, there is much to be grateful for.
Transcript
Taking some nice deep breaths,
Connecting with your breath and coming into this present moment.
Letting any thoughts or worries drift away.
Bringing your attention to your breathing.
Peacefully relaxing your mind.
Letting thoughts come and go without struggle.
If you notice yourself drifting into thoughts,
Just gently and lovingly bringing your attention back to your breath.
Identifying any points of tension in your body and just allowing yourself to relax.
Taking this time out just for you.
Consciously relaxing your face and jaw.
Letting that relaxation flow over you like a wave.
Releasing any tightness in your body.
Now letting your breathing find its own natural rhythm.
And imagine that you are inhaling and exhaling through your heart center.
Watching your breath as if it were coming directly into your lungs through the center of your chest.
And with every breath feel yourself accessing the love and gratitude stored deep within you.
Every breath connects you with love.
Expanding and growing.
If you notice any resistance,
Just breathing into it.
Don't fight with it.
It might help to connect with an image of a person,
Thing or situation that you are grateful for.
Breathe into that appreciation and expand it.
Drawing up from your well of love using your breath.
Experiencing this love to its fullest and knowing that this love is yours.
You carry it with you always.
It can never be diminished or taken away.
It flows constantly within you.
You simply need to access it.
Now we are going to send that love throughout your body.
Starting with your feet.
Feeling that gratitude overflowing from your heart as it flows towards your feet.
Considering all the things that your feet allow you to do.
Life would truly not be the same without your feet being healthy and functional.
Saying to yourself thank you.
Sending blessings to your feet.
That love continues to flow now up your legs,
Through your knees,
Thighs.
Thinking of all of the things that you would not be able to accomplish in life without these incredible legs.
Knowing that that love within you is infinite.
It will never run out.
Allowing it to overflow from your heart down to your legs.
Noticing if any judgements arise and just sending them love.
Using your next breath to reconnect and just let that judgement go.
Overflowing that love once again now down to your hands.
Considering just how astounding these hands really are.
Feeling so grateful for everything that you have done with them until now in your life.
And everything that they will do for you for the rest of your life.
Breathing in and letting that love overflow along your arms.
Sending gratitude with it for the muscles and the bones that allow you to reach out into the world.
Thanking your arms for the ability to hold someone close to you and for enabling you to give and receive love.
Dipping again into that endless well in your heart center and sending love now to your spine.
From the bottom all the way up.
Continuing through your neck and up to the base of your skull.
This incredible structure that holds you upright also gives you the ability to bend and flex as you need.
Whether it's firm or soft your spine is always there for you to rely on.
Bringing that love up to your face and head.
The place where many of your senses reside.
Beginning with your ears.
Thanking them for allowing you to take in the sounds of your life journey.
Thinking of something lovely that you recently heard.
The sounds of nature.
A kind word.
A beautiful piece of music.
Feeling the gratitude growing in your heart as you think of it.
And now to your mouth.
Thanking it for the ability to taste the many foods and drinks that the world has to offer.
Giving you a vehicle to express yourself creatively,
Socially and intimately.
And considering something that you have been able to express that you are truly grateful for.
Moving to your nose now.
Appreciating your sense of smell and how it enhances your enjoyment of life.
Remembering something that you recently enjoyed smelling.
Fresh coffee.
An ocean breeze.
A meal that you were about to eat.
The perfume of nature.
Feeling your love expanding once again.
Connecting with the surface of your skin.
On your face and all over your body.
Saying thank you for this gift of feeling.
Recognizing the simple joy found in feeling a refreshing breeze on your skin.
Or the magic of contact with water.
Or the connection that is created when your skin touches someone else's.
And appreciating all the other things in your life that feel good.
And bringing your attention to your eyes.
Your portal to the world around you.
Through which you can observe beauty,
Innocence and love.
Through which you invite ideas into your life.
And just reconnecting with something beautiful that you have recently seen and thanking your eyes for this experience.
Feeling that heart center expanding.
Experiencing more love and gratitude than you thought was possible.
Knowing that this love is limitless.
Becoming aware of any areas in your body that are experiencing pain,
Tension,
Toxicity,
Ill health or that you are struggling with negative judgments about.
And now consciously sending love to these areas.
And for this moment trying something new.
Instead of wishing this part of you were different,
Try loving it exactly as it is.
You are not approving of your pain or discomfort,
You are simply sending love to the part of you that is suffering.
Sending your heart to compassion and sending it inward.
Saying to yourself,
I love each and every part of me.
Now visualizing yourself standing in front of a full length mirror.
Sending your gaze from bottom to top.
Noticing any judgments that arise,
Don't fight them.
Just sending love to each one.
Focusing on those areas that you judge the most in the mirror.
And repeating this affirmation.
I love each and every part of me.
If you are finding that there is still a struggle,
That judgment remains.
Changing the words slightly to I send love to each and every part of me.
Sending it love and compassion.
Accessing that well of love and sending that golden energy to the image of yourself in the mirror.
Looking now on the reflection of your heart center.
Looking deep inside.
Almost as if now you are traveling beyond the mirror.
Traveling through your heart to what lies within.
Seeing your true self.
You might call it your soul,
Your spirit,
Your essence.
Whatever name you use.
Seeing past your physical body into the depths of your pure being.
Whatever you see is right for you.
And in this realm of the soul,
Connecting with a sense of universal love that connects us all.
You might see this as a white light or a colored energy.
A mist or something more physical that creates a link between all people.
Inviting this universal collective love into your spirit.
Drawing it in.
Know that the supply is infinite and there is more than enough for everyone.
Feeling a sense of gratitude for your life journey.
Feeling confident that you are fulfilling your purpose.
And seeing clearly now that unconditional love is not only available to you,
But it is a part of you.
Slowly bringing back that image of yourself in the mirror.
And seeing your true essence shining out from your heart.
Knowing that you are connected to all other beings and the universal flow of love.
And now connecting with your breathing once more.
Breathing deeply.
Using your breath to awaken your body.
Breathing right down into your feet and gently stretching and moving your feet,
Your legs,
Your hands.
Bringing that love and gratitude with you as you gently come back into your body.
Back into the room and onward with your day.
