And welcome to this guided meditation on grounding yourself.
It is a practice of cultivating a deep sense of stability,
Security,
And connection with the present moment.
This practice helps to reduce stress,
Anxiety,
And feelings of overwhelm,
And to bring a deep sense of calm and clarity.
As we proceed,
Feel free to adjust your posture,
Ensuring that you are comfortable,
Relaxed,
And alert.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position,
Either on a cushion or a chair,
Or if you'd like,
You can lay on the ground or do this meditation standing.
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Allowing your body to fully relax.
Take a few slow,
Deep breaths,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
As your breath stills,
And as you breathe in,
Feel the cool air filling your lungs,
And as you breathe out,
Try and let go of any tensions or stress that may be held there.
Now bring your attention to the soles of your feet.
Imagine roots growing down from the soles of your feet,
Deep into the earth.
Allow yourself to feel the stability and the security that these roots bring you,
Connecting you with the earth below.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine that you are drawing up energy from the earth,
Up through your roots and into your body.
Visualize this energy as a warm golden light,
Filling your body with a sense of grounding and stability.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the sensations of breath as it enters and leaves your body.
Observe the rise and fall of your chest,
The sensation of air moving in and out of your nostrils.
Allow your breath to be your anchor,
Bringing it back and bringing back your attention to the present grounding moment whenever it wanders,
Non-judgmentally,
With compassion and honesty towards yourself.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine with each inhale you draw energy in,
Up from the earth,
Filling your body with a sense of real grounding and stability.
And with each exhale,
Imagine that you are releasing any tension or stress that may be present in your body,
Allowing it to be carried away by your breath and filled with that sense of grounding.
As we continue this practice,
Allow yourself to fully immerse yourself in the sense of grounding and stability that you have cultivated,
Recognizing this sense of connection with the present moment and the deep sense of calm and clarity that relaxing in and grounding yourself in this very pleasant moment can bring,
Reducing stress and anxiety,
And allowing yourself to be fully aware of the presence of the earth,
And the presence of the earth itself.
As we conclude this meditation,
Bring your attention back to the soles of your feet.
Visualize the roots growing deep into the earth,
Connecting you with the stability and security of the earth below.
Take a few slow deep breaths,
Feeling that sense of grounding that you have cultivated in our short practice.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and return to your surroundings,
Carrying the sense of grounding and stability that you have cultivated with you as you go about your day.
