Shavyatra can be practiced as a meditation, a relaxation practice or as a yoga Nidra. It comes from the Himalayan Tradition and was first introduced to me through the works of Swami Rama. In this practice, we journey through 61 vital energy points in the body (marma Bindu). It is a deeply relaxing, calming and grounding practice, that can be done anytime you need it. It can also help in finding relief from anxiety, overwhelm and insomnia. Hope you benefit from this practice.

Namaste,

Welcome.

I am Sakshi and I will be guiding you through a 61 point meditation called Shavyatra,

An inward journey focusing on 61 points in the body.

This can be practiced as a meditation,

A long shavasana or a yoga nidra.

For this practice,

Lie down in shavasana on your back in a space where you will be undisturbed for next 20 minutes,

Making yourself comfortable so that you can find stillness in your body.

Maybe you would like to support your knees with a rolled blanket,

A bolster or a pillow to help settle your spine a bit more.

Maybe you would like a thin pillow under your head to support the neck.

The body cools down quite a bit during this practice,

So a thin blanket might be a good idea,

Especially if you are in colder climate right now.

If your surrounding can't be dark or semi-dark,

Then cover your eyes with a sleep mask,

A eye pillow or a folded cloth.

Set yourself up and then let's begin.

Once you are settled comfortably in shavasana,

Let your feet fall open,

Your arms beside your body,

Palms facing up,

Eyes closed,

Tuning in to the natural rhythm of your breath.

In and out,

Letting each breath help you soften and lean into the earth a bit more.

Slowly your breath deepens,

Lengthens your belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

Expanding with your in-breath,

Softening with your out-breath.

We will channel the breath as love,

Prana,

Energy to consciously relax our body.

Relaxing the feet,

Relaxing the ankles,

Relaxing the calves,

Relaxing the knees.

Relaxing the thighs,

Relaxing the anus,

Relaxing the groin,

Relaxing the pelvis.

Relaxing the buttocks,

Relaxing the belly and the lower back.

Relaxing your ribs,

Relaxing the chest,

Relaxing the collar bones,

Relaxing the arms.

Relaxing the shoulders,

Releasing them down to the ground.

Relaxing the throat and the neck,

Softening the jaw,

Relaxing the ears,

Relaxing the lips,

Cheeks,

Nose,

Eyes,

Eyebrows,

Forehead.

Relaxing the head,

Your face soft and relaxed.

Relaxing your head,

Your entire body completely relaxed.

Now as I guide your awareness through 61 energy points,

Visualize a bright star at each point.

As you move from one point to the next,

Keep setting a star at each point.

Bringing your awareness to the third eye center,

The point between your eyebrows.

Visualize a bright radiant star in the center of your eyebrows.

Visualize a star in the hollow of your throat.

Your right shoulder joint.

Your right elbow joint.

The middle of your right wrist.

Tip of your right thumb.

Tip of your index finger.

As your body becomes this vast limitless space full of stars.

Let your consciousness flow through it.

Slowly let your awareness settle down.

Becoming aware of your limbs resting on the ground.

Connecting to your senses.

Feeling the sensation of air on your skin.

The solidity of the ground under you.

Wiggle your fingers.

Wiggle your toes.

Pick up the pillow of one arm and let yourself roll over to your side.

Using your hand as a support,

Let yourself come into a sitting position.

Eyes closed,

Sitting tall.

Rub your palms together.

Create some warmth between your palms.

Take that warmth to your face.

Cupping your eyes,

Soaking in the touch of your hands,

The heat of your palms.

Gently blink open your eyes and the cup of your palms.

Moving your hands slightly away from your face,

Gazing at the lines in your palms.

Take a moment to remind yourself of something you're grateful for today.

Once you are done,

Relax,

Release.

I hope you're okay,

That you're feeling grounded,

Settled,

Maybe a bit rested.

Thank you so much for taking this time out for yourself and for joining me for this practice.

Sending you big love.

Take care.
