This is a 36 minute guided yoga nidra practice to foster trust in life. You are a child of the cosmos, a drop containing the entire ocean. The same creative pulse which permeates all that is, is the same force that moves through you. It is safe to trust in this innate intelligence, to trust in yourself, and to trust in the loving awareness that underlies the cosmic tapestry. As we harness this trust, we settle into the remembrance that we are not alone, we are loved, and we can walk with knowing that we have the capacity to face the truth of reality, to face anything life presents us with wisdom, compassion, and equanimity.

Hello and welcome.

Thank you so much for choosing to be here.

My name is Christine and it is an honor and a pleasure to share these techniques and practices of yoga nidra with you.

I want to begin by acknowledging your courage and strength in being here.

Showing up for yourself.

For giving yourself the gift of your own time and presence.

You are here now and it is time to relax,

To rest deeply,

And to surrender into the unconditional embrace of the creative force of life.

You are a child of the whole cosmos.

A drop of water containing the entire ocean.

A unique expression of the creative potential of all that is.

If only you knew just how loved and adored you are,

Precious soul.

Now you may have already settled into the sacred container of your yoga nidra nest.

If not,

Perhaps pausing this video and building your cocoon by using extra pillows and blankets to support the back of the head and behind the knees.

Covering up the body or even tucking yourself in to ensure the body remains warm.

And covering the eyes to enhance your pratyahara practice.

The practice of turning your gaze inward,

Withdrawing the senses from your outer experience and sensing your inner landscape.

You are encouraged to remain still,

To remain alert and aware.

Trust the innate intelligence of your body and the life force which animates your body to know what is most needed in this moment.

Trust you will receive the exact medicine to best support you right now.

You can embrace the natural unfolding of your experience just as it is.

Let my voice be your anchor.

The practice of yoga nidra is now beginning.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and at the top of the inhale contract all the muscles in your body.

Arms,

Legs,

Abdomen,

Face.

Make fists.

Exhale and release completely.

Let the body get heavy.

And again,

A deep breath in through the nose,

Then contract your muscles,

Whole body.

Curl the toes even.

Exhale with an audible sigh as you release everything.

Sense a wave of relaxation sweeping down the body.

And one more.

Big breath in.

Contract all of your muscles.

Retain the breath for a few moments.

And exhale to release.

Let go completely as you surrender to stillness.

Wave of relaxation sweeping from the crown of your head to the tips of your fingers and the tips of your toes.

Let the breath find its natural rhythm.

Notice the breath inside the right nostril.

Inside the left nostril.

Inside both nostrils.

Notice the body lying down and welcome the hug of gravity.

The earth is unconditionally able to support the weight of your body.

Notice what this knowing feels like.

This sense of trust that your body is totally and unconditionally held and supported by the earth.

As if her loving hand is reaching up to hold and have your back completely.

Begin to welcome in the sounds around you.

Vibrational waves arising and dissolving.

Both ears open and receptive.

Notice all the layers of sounds.

Perhaps the sounds start to become distant.

Or perhaps not.

Just let all the sounds be there.

Notice the breath at the navel.

On your next inhalation,

Begin to fill the lungs like a water bottle.

Filling the lowest lobes of the lungs first.

Then the middle lobes.

And the upper lobes.

Exhale to let go.

Empty.

Empty.

Empty.

Then inhaling to fill the abdomen,

Rib cage,

Upper chest.

Exhaling to empty completely.

Continuing this way with a complete yogic breath.

Filling in your full breath capacity.

Abdomen,

Rib cage,

Upper chest.

Letting that go.

Begin to attune your inner gaze to your sacred heart cave.

Start sensing in for the pearls shimmering here.

Beckoning your attention.

Your embrace and participation.

What do you need in this moment right now?

Allow your sankalpa to begin to form.

To arise and to form.

A sankalpa is a heartfelt vow or resolve for one's lifetime or even for just this very moment.

Stating your resolve in a positive I am affirmation.

And know that your sankalpa may arise at any moment throughout your yoga nidra journey,

Including after your practice.

Give yourself time for the wisdom of your heart to reveal itself.

You may also choose to try on one of the following.

I am held unconditionally by the cosmic heart.

I have everything I need.

Or I am a force of nature.

My innate gifts and purpose unfold organically.

Or I am loving awareness.

I always know the next best step to take.

Stating your sankalpa now three times.

I am.

I am.

I am.

Then letting it go.

There is nothing you need to do about it.

Take comfort knowing that you will revisit your sankalpa before this practice ends.

Now just trust and witness the unfolding.

Let's now go on a journey through the physical pathways of the body as we begin a rotation of consciousness.

Could you bring all of your attention to sensations inside the mouth?

Sensations inside the mouth.

Upper teeth and gums.

Lower teeth and gums.

All the walls of your mouth.

The tip of your tongue.

Tip of the tongue all the way to the root of the tongue.

And the airflow at the back of the throat.

Sense the sinus cavity.

The airflow inside the nostrils.

To the tip of the nose.

Both nostril flares and the bridge of the nose.

The clearing between the eyebrows.

Mind's eye center.

Earlobes.

The folds and valleys of the ears.

Ear canals.

Ear drums.

Both ears listening.

Mind's eye center.

Awareness soaking across the forehead.

Whole scalp and hair.

To the crown of the head.

Back of the head.

Now the whole head and face.

Base of the skull.

Cervical spine.

The back of the neck.

Center of the throat.

Pit of the throat.

Both collarbones.

Shoulders.

Shoulder blades.

Upper arm.

Elbows.

Lower arms.

Wrists.

Palms of the hands.

Back of the hands.

Tips of the hands.

Back of the hands.

Tips of both thumbs.

Tips of the index fingers.

Middle fingers.

Ring fingers.

Tips of the little fingers.

The tips of all ten fingers.

And sensing the vibrant energy here in the hands.

Sense both arms.

Both arms.

Both arms.

To the center of the chest.

Your energetic heart center.

And sensing the back of the heart.

Both sides of the chest.

The rib cage.

Gentle rise and fall of the diaphragm with the breath.

Abdomen.

The hips and lower back.

Sacrum.

Tailbone.

The whole pelvic bowl.

Sense the whole torso now.

Whole torso.

Whole torso.

Both hips.

Upper legs.

Knees.

Lower legs.

Ankles.

Heels.

Soles of the feet.

Top of the feet.

Tips of the big toes.

Second toes.

Third.

Little toes.

Tips of all ten toes.

Feel both legs together now.

Both legs.

Both legs.

Sense the left hemisphere of your body.

Sense the right hemisphere of your body.

Sense the left hemisphere of your body and the right hemisphere of your brain.

Sense the right hemisphere of your body.

Sense the right hemisphere of your body.

Sense the right hemisphere of your body and the left hemisphere of your brain.

Sense both hemispheres together.

Whole body now.

Whole body now.

Whole body.

Bring your awareness to the flow of your breath.

Begin to feel,

Sense,

Or imagine.

You can draw in breath along with prana.

Through the crown of your head,

Down the center of your body.

Exhaling out between your legs,

Continuing through the space between your feet.

Inhaling,

Breath moves up between your feet,

Through the center of your body,

To the crown of your head.

Exhaling,

Breath flows from the crown of your head,

Down the center of your body,

And out through the space between your feet.

Sense or imagine the breath flowing all the way to the edge of your nidra nest.

Inhale,

And feel as though you are pulling the breath all the way from the edge of your nidra nest,

Between your feet,

Between your legs,

And up the length of the spine to the crown of your head.

Let the exhalation flow all the way to the door of the room you are lying in.

Inhale,

And feel breath flow back to the crown of your head.

Every exhalation moving progressively farther and wider out into space.

Feel the exhalation flow out to your favorite tree.

Inhaling,

Back up to the crown of your head.

Just imagining.

Exhale,

And let the breath flow out to the sky.

Inhale,

Breath back to the crown of your head.

Just imagining.

Feel the exhalation flow to the edge of the ocean.

Inhale,

Breath flowing back to the crown of your head.

Exhaling,

Breath flows to the moon,

And then flows back to the crown of your head on the inhale.

Exhale,

Breath travels all the way to the farthest reaches of the universe.

Inhale,

Breath returns to the top of your head.

Letting that go.

Release your grip on any memories or sensations experienced.

Let it be.

Notice yourself returning to a state of neutrality and equanimity.

Release all attachment.

Allow awareness to abide at the clearing between the brows.

Mind's eye center.

Coming to sit at your seat of intuition and imagination.

Could you begin to see in your mind's eye a black screen?

Begin to allow imagery,

Patterns,

Shapes,

Colors,

Sounds to flood your awareness.

Projecting onto this black screen like a movie reel.

Just allow the arising and unfolding as you receive the following.

A white rose.

A chorus of insects on a summer night.

Wolves howling.

People gathered around a fire.

A blue and golden macaw.

A giant oak tree.

A hundred year old tortoise.

Fireflies in a field.

Waves crashing on the shoreline.

A lightning and thunderstorm.

A flower growing through a crack in the sidewalk.

A clear blue sky.

The Milky Way galaxy.

And letting that go.

Sense the radiance of your being.

The wholeness.

Allow the light of your love and awareness to shine upon any places of darkness.

Loving disparate parts to wholeness.

Embracing yourself.

Letting any self-limiting beliefs naturally fall away.

Anything that no longer serves you dissolving effortlessly.

Accept that you are a magnificent,

Radiant being of light.

Containing the same creative pulse.

The same creative force that permeates all that is.

It is safe to trust in the innate intelligence of life.

This creative pulse within you.

Moving to you and through you.

Could you draw your awareness back to your heart center?

Rest here as loving awareness in the sacred cave of your heart.

Begin to sense the beat of your heart.

And then begin to call back in your sankalpa.

Calling it in three times.

I am.

I am.

I am.

Saying it with more or as much resolve as you did at the beginning of your practice.

And so it is.

Let it go.

Trust in the unfolding.

Notice your breath.

Sense the weight of your body.

Sense the space your body is occupying.

Begin to sense your environment.

Notice the quality of air gently touching your skin.

The sounds around you.

Any fragrances on the air.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale to sigh it out.

Twice more.

When you're ready,

Roll onto one side.

When you're ready,

Rolling onto one side and resting a while longer.

Hug your knees up towards your chest,

Resting in a fetal position.

This is the shape you began life in,

In the womb.

Remember,

You are held,

Nourished by the cosmic womb always and in all ways.

And you are loved beyond words.

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Now you can easily return here again and again,

Anytime you need.

You may choose to close your practice with a seated meditation or some free writing in your journal.

Thank you so much for being here today.

Again,

My name is Christine and it's so wonderful to be here with you.

May you be happy,

May you be at peace,

And may you be free.

Be well.

So much love.
