Welcome to this breath awareness practice for clarity.
Lay down or find a comfortable seat.
Make any adjustments to your body that you need to make to support you in feeling completely grounded and then start to find a nice slow breath in and then a slow breath out.
We'll take one more breath like that together,
Nice slow breath in and then a slow breath out.
To connect to yourself on a deeper level and to gain insight and clarity towards your desires,
You need to establish the capacity to listen fully to the subtleties of your body and mind.
This can be achieved through pairing intention with a very conscious and intimate relationship with your breath.
The main desire of breath awareness is that you're not encouraging any sort of breath pattern or breathing in any particular way.
Instead you are allowing your breath to come and go by itself while you are simply an impartial observer or a detached witness.
When you are unaware of your breath,
You are sitting in habitual and unconscious thoughts and behaviors.
But as soon as you start to shine your light of awareness,
You begin to uncover what lies beneath the surface.
Let's begin now by setting an intention.
Think of your intention as something that you want to be,
Do,
Feel or have in your life.
For example,
I want to feel grounded in my relationships.
I want to have space in my days for myself.
I want to be more loving and open so that I can feel safe.
Think of your intention as the desire between what is currently happening in your life and what you would prefer to be happening.
Most intentions are unconscious,
Unrecognized and unrealized,
Meaning that you might feel unclear about what you want or you feel limited in creating a life that reflects deeper meaning.
If this is how you're feeling today,
Know that that's okay and it's also completely normal.
As we start to breathe,
Not only do I want you to focus on your breath,
But I want you to notice everything that begins to arise.
All thoughts,
All feelings,
All sensations.
Remember with breath awareness,
You are shining a light onto your subconscious and it will begin to speak to you in different ways.
If your intention is unclear,
Know that by observing your breath,
You are looking to uncover in the deepest parts of your heart,
Your unspoken desires.
Now let's begin to breathe.
So prepare with a nice,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And then a slow breath out and just allow yourself to fall into your natural rhythm of breath.
Knowing that for the next few minutes,
You don't need to control your breath or shift your breath in any way.
Just allowing and trusting that your body will simply breathe itself.
As you breathe,
Take time to really focus on all of the details of your breath that you notice.
Maybe even asking yourself,
How do I know that I am breathing?
What is it that you can feel or sense about your breath?
If your breath moves through your nose,
Focus your attention on the feelings and sensations in your nostrils as the air passes in and out.
If you're breathing through your mouth,
Focus your attention on the air that passes through your nose.
And out.
If you're breathing through your mouth,
Notice the feelings and sensations of air as it passes over your lips and your tongue.
Maybe you choose to focus on the feelings and sensations of the movement in your chest or your belly as your breath slowly comes in and slowly goes out.
Continue to focus on all of the details of your breath.
Let the waves of your breath roll into the next and just continue to notice what comes up.
Keep breathing and don't move away from any thoughts or sensations that start to arise.
Be present to your breath,
But also acknowledge anything else that is trying to speak to you within this moment.
Maybe something that relates to your intention.
Maybe a feeling or a story.
Continue to work with your breath to bring to the surface all of these things that sit within your subconscious mind.
Know that this is a gentle process and if you feel that your mind starts to wander away too much,
And know that it will,
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Remain clear and connected to all of the sensations that begin to arise.
And if you need to,
You can at any point just take a cleansing breath just to reset.
A slow breath in and then a slow breath out.
And then allow yourself to drop back into your natural rhythm of breath.
Continuing to develop and observe the natural rhythm,
Strengthening your ability to perceive all that lies within your heart.
Keep breathing and just let it all flow.
Let the subtle sensations,
The tingles,
The vibrations,
The thoughts,
The stories.
Let them all move here within this moment.
Keep breathing and just let it all flow.
Continue to focus on all of the details of your breath.
Let the waves of your breath roll into the next.
And just continue to notice what comes up.
Keep breathing and don't move away from any thoughts or sensations that start to arise.
If your mind has wandered away,
Just slowly start to bring your focus back to your body.
Start to take a slow deep breath in and then a slow breath out.
And whenever you feel ready,
You can slowly start to open your eyes.
Just taking time to adjust to the environment around you.
Take note of anything that's sitting with you within this moment.
Any thoughts,
Any feelings,
Any emotions.
And see if you can bring your focus back to your intention that you set at the start of the practice.
Notice how your body speaks to you and offers you insight and clarity to the things that you desire.
You might like to take a couple of moments now just to sit in contemplation or maybe even journal.
Just taking some time to move over your experience.
Otherwise,
Take your time to move,
Slowly ease into your day.
Just know that even though this practice seems relatively simple,
It can offer some profound insight.
I hope you enjoy and I hope to see you again soon.
