Thank you for joining me for this root chakra meditation.

It's wonderful to have you here.

Getting settled now into your meditation posture,

Whether seated or laying down,

Taking some time to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported and balanced here.

And we'll begin with a few conscious breaths,

Breathing into the belly,

Into the chest,

And sighing it out the mouth.

Twice more into the belly,

Into the chest,

Sighing it out the mouth.

Last one.

And here,

Perhaps closing the eyes if you feel comfortable to do so.

Coming back to your natural breath pattern and beginning to become aware of this natural pattern of breath.

And as you feel the inhale,

Noticing the parts of your body that naturally expand.

And as you exhale,

There is that release.

Beginning to now visualize now that as you inhale,

It's as though this breath is drawn up from your tailbone,

Up the length of your spine to the crown,

The top of your head.

And as you exhale,

It's as though that breath pours down the spine,

Out through your root.

The root of your spine,

The base,

Your tailbone,

Is the location of your spiritual root chakra.

And so as we breathe in,

We envision the breath traveling up the length of your spine from your root all the way up to your crown,

The top of your head.

And as you exhale,

You envision that breath traveling down.

Beautiful.

Letting go of that visualization,

Maintaining our awareness,

Our connection to the root of our spine.

The color associated with the root chakra is red.

Maybe you see in your mind's eye a swirling red ball of energy swirling at the base of your spine.

Bright ruby red.

Feeling into sensation in your glutes,

Your seat,

Down your thighs,

Both the right and left thigh.

Noticing any sensation,

Maybe tingling or temperature in the knees,

The left knee and the right knee.

And with your mind's eye moving down to the shins,

The calf,

Exploring any sensation that you may find here in your ankles,

The tops of your feet,

The soles of your feet,

All 10 toes here.

Our roots,

Our foundation connecting us to the foundation of the earth.

And now allowing your feet,

Ankles,

Legs and seat to be felt in totality.

Our legs that carrying us around all day.

Noticing how it feels in your body in this moment.

Perhaps holding onto that shimmering ruby red light,

Ball of energy swirling at the base of your spine.

And noticing here if you're holding onto any tension that perhaps you can soften,

That you can allow the earth,

The earth element is connected to the root chakra.

We can allow the earth to hold us.

Really giving over all your weight,

Trusting that anything that you no longer need to carry can be absorbed and transmuted by the earth.

Trusting that it is safe for you to be here.

Perhaps repeating in your mind's eye or even out loud,

It is safe for me to be here.

I have a right to be here.

And feel that awareness encompass your entire body now so that the energy sensations related to this deep trust,

Grounding and rooting,

The safety in your foundation,

In your home,

Your physical vessel can permeate through your entire being and provide a protective layer between you and everything outside of yourself.

Although we are all connected,

You have complete autonomy over your body.

You get to choose what enters your field.

Coming back to awareness of your breath.

The breath is moving from the base of your spine at your tailbone,

Up the length of your spine to your crown on the inhale,

Your natural inhale,

And down the length of your spine on your natural exhale.

No need to change or force the breath in any way.

Next time you breathe in,

That breath travels up to the base of your skull and then maybe even out your skull as though it's traveling all the way up to the heavens.

And as you breathe out,

The breath travels down,

Out the base of your spine,

Down into the earth.

Roots grow,

Connecting you,

Tethering you to this planet.

In this way,

We are affirming our connection to spirit and to earth matter.

Coming back to deeper and longer breaths,

Breathing into the belly,

Into the chest,

Letting it out the mouth,

Let it be a sigh.

A few more times,

Let in more breath,

Lengthen and deepen.

As you slow down your breath,

You are telling your body that you are safe.

And as we end our meditation together,

It may feel nice to place your hands on your body,

Hands on your heart,

Or give yourself a massage,

Honoring this home.

And from my home to yours,

Thank you so much for joining me today.
