Let the gentle tones of windchimes guide you into rest. This meditation blends Dharma-rooted storytelling with the natural music of the breeze. You’ll be invited to settle, breathe, and follow a slow unfolding story — one that reflects the truth of impermanence and peace. The tones rise and fade like breath itself, carrying you into a place of ease. Whether you are grieving, restless, or simply carrying the weight of the day, this practice offers a safe way to release and soften. Each chime is a reminder: all things come and go, and stillness is always here.

Hi,

I'm glad you made it here tonight.

The day has carried its weight.

Some of it heavy.

Some of it light.

Now it is time to let it go.

Settle where you are.

Lie down or sit in a way that feels most restful.

Let your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw unclench.

Let your hands rest loosely by your side.

Take a gentle breath in through the nose.

And out through the mouth.

Nothing forced.

Just the rhythm that carries you toward rest.

Now let me tell you a story.

There was once a wanderer who carried grief like a stone.

Every step was heavy.

Every breath a burden.

One evening,

As the sun lowered,

He came to a tree.

And from his branches hung a single chime.

The wind moved.

The chime sang.

Each tone rose,

Lingered,

And slowly faded into silence.

The wanderer sat beneath the tree,

Resting in silence.

Floating,

Dissolving back into air.

With every note,

The stone he carried felt lighter.

And now gone,

But no longer crushing him.

The sky dimmed.

The first stars appeared.

The branches above him swayed in rhythm with his breath.

Cool air touched his skin,

Like kindness made visible.

The chime sang again.

And again.

Each sound a reminder that nothing clings forever.

Now let yourself rest here too.

Feel the bed,

The cushion,

The earth beneath you.

It holds you steady,

Just as the tree held the wanderer.

Take another slow inhale.

Let the weight of the day leave with the breath.

Repeat this rhythm in your own time.

Foreign.

Picture the stone of your own grief or worry.

Heavy in your hands.

Tonight,

You set it gently beneath the tree.

The wind chime will tend it for you.

The chime answers.

Each tone carried a message.

Carrying your burden away.

Now imagine the night sky wide above you.

Endless,

Scattered with stars.

Each star a reminder that light endures.

Each silence between them,

A reminder that rest is holy.

If thoughts rise,

Let them drift like leaves across a stream.

If emotions stir,

Let them pass like clouds across the moon.

The wanderer rested this way until sleep came.

He dreamed of no burden.

No chain.

Only wind,

Only chimes,

Only peace.

Let the body sink deeper.

And let the chimes carry you into sleep.
