You are perfect just the way you are. Let go of desires to be different, or wishing for a different outcome from a situation of the past. Realize that your scars tell a story, every situation happens for you, and that you are perfectly imperfect.

Welcome.

To begin this meditation,

Find a comfortable seated position and lightly close down your eyes.

Begin to create a calm breath rhythm,

Breathing in and out of your nose at whatever pace or tempo feels natural to you.

As you connect with your breath,

Begin to sit up tall with your back straight and envision stacking each vertebrae of your spine,

One on top of the other.

With back straight,

Spine aligned,

Pull your shoulders back,

Lightly lifting your chest to reinforce that strong,

Confident posture.

Still connected to the breath,

Relax your jaw,

Slightly separating your teeth,

Resting your tongue against the back of your two front teeth.

Now begin to relax your eyes,

Relax your eyebrows,

And relax the space between your eyes.

Every next level of life will demand a new you,

And sometimes it takes being broken in order to become that new version of you.

In the Japanese culture,

There is a concept known as Kintsugi,

Also known as golden repair.

It is the art of mending or repairing broken pottery with silver,

Platinum,

Or gold.

The philosophy of this process treats the object,

Once it's been broken,

As part of its history.

Rather than hiding or disguising the cracks and breaks,

They're brought to the forefront with valuable elements,

Creating more value because it's been broken.

Now visualize yourself in a broken state,

In a state that may have recently happened,

Is currently happening,

Or may have happened in the past.

This broke you.

It broke you mentally,

It broke you physically,

And it broke you emotionally.

And now I want you to see yourself on the other side of that event,

See yourself where you are now.

How did you respond to that event that broke you?

Understand there is no right,

There is no wrong.

There is only the situation and the response.

And perhaps there's a way you can respond and improve on that response.

See that now,

And see it without self-judgment.

See it as a way to improve.

See it as a way to mend your brokenness with gold.

And see it as an opportunity to create more value in your thoughts and in your actions.

If you responded well in that situation,

That's great.

Keep that visual in the front of your mind,

And use that positive response as you go through your day to day and face new challenges that might also break you.

Remember that every time you're broken,

It is simply an opportunity for you to respond in a manner that creates both inner and outer strength.

And to not let that event steal your joy.

Now see the challenges that you have today as opportunities to break yourself physically and mentally.

Go into today with a goal to challenge yourself and push yourself to that broken state so that you will come out stronger,

So that you will fix your broken cracks with gold.

And once again now,

Visualize yourself.

Visualize a strong version of you.

Visualize a repaired version of you with scars filled with gold,

Creating a you that is stronger and wiser and ready for any challenge ahead.

Because it's in your scars where your story begins.

It's in your brokenness where your power and your beauty are created.

And it's in your imperfections where your perfection lies.

And your scars,

Be them physical or mental,

Have created strength.

They've created resilience.

They've created growth.

Your wounds have given you a superpower far beyond what you once thought possible.

To adapt and overcome any situation that comes before you.

Because of this,

You're ready.

Because of this,

You are strong.

And because of this,

You are imperfectly perfect.

Now take this mindset into the day,

Confident.

Again ready for the challenge.

Ready for the struggle.

Ready for whatever comes before you.

Because it's there for you.

It's there for you to make you better.

Let's end the meditation with three breaths in and out together.

Take a breath in through your nose.

Breathe out deep through your mouth.

In through your nose.

Breathe out.

One more time.

In and out.

Slowly open your eyes.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.

Smile a little bit.

And go out and create your imperfectly perfect day.

You crushed this one. Hits to the core for me, I couldn't be anymore broken right now. Really lifted me up and made me think about the beauty in brokenness.
