So good morning.
Feel yourself right here.
Feel all of us together.
The invitation is as it always is to be here exactly as you are without trying to change or fix anything.
And there's nothing to get right because you're doing it right.
Allowing the conversations and the connection and the chatter to soften,
Arrive,
And land into our space together.
I feel so grateful to be here with you all.
So feel the thread of our connection.
We're practicing alone,
But practicing together.
Take a big breath in and let it go with a sigh.
And we'll do two more of those.
Breath in and let it go.
And one final letting go breath that I'll share audibly.
You can continue with as many as you'd like.
Notice thoughts and sensations as they come and go and allow them to float by like clouds in the sky.
And see if you can feel yourself dropping into a place of stillness where all doing stops.
Feel a deep sense of peace and contentment begin to wash over you and find its way into your heart.
Invite your attention inward and invite yourself to be right here and let go of everything that's brought you here to this moment and let yourself be fully here right now,
Just for now.
Let go of worries and concerns just for now.
Let thoughts simply arise and dissolve in your mind,
Not trying to make them go away,
Not trying to change them or struggle against them.
Just let them come and go.
Feel a gentle rise of the belly on a breath in and the belly dropping back down on an exhale.
Feel a sense of peace and come choose to let yourself feel a sense of peace and come.
Let this sense of calm fill your whole body,
Filling it so completely that there's no room for anything else but calm in your body right here.
Just for now,
If you feel like you have any energy that wants or needs to release,
You can move in any way that your body is inviting you to.
You can squeeze your shoulders up to your ears and drop them down.
You can tighten and then release your hands and feet or belly and back.
Scrunch up your face.
If you'd like,
You can take a big breath in and stretch your arms up overhead.
Reach,
Reach,
Keep stretching your arms up whether you're seated or laying down and relax your arms back down another breath and pointing and flexing your feet and stretching your legs,
Stretching and pointing,
And then let your feet and your legs rest.
If you want to take a big body stretch,
Arms can reach in one direction,
Legs can reach in one direction.
And if you're already still,
That's perfect.
Notice if your body enjoyed having any movement or if it feels ready to be at rest and let everything go completely and feel your whole body heavy.
Stay in touch with the sound of my voice and let any disturbances or distractions from outside or inside draw you in more deeply.
Feel your body,
Whether seated or standing or laying down,
Getting very heavy,
Thinking,
Releasing into the pull of gravity,
Rest in a space of quiet.
Imagine your body being filled with tingling with sparkly bubbles from the bottom to the top.
Both feet have tingly bubbles popping,
Popping on your feet and on your ankles and knees.
Tingly,
Fizzy bubbles popping on your legs and your hips,
Popping on your belly and your chest and sparkly,
Fizzy bubbles popping on your arms and your hands.
Sparkly,
Fizzy bubbles on your neck,
Your head covering you with shimmering light.
Feel the whole body buzzing and tingling from the popping of the bubbles.
And now rest very still and very quiet.
And whether you're seated or laying down or standing without moving,
Imagine you're standing in a room with seven colorful hula hoops on the floor.
You feel really happy because you're so good at hula hooping.
Even if your mind says you aren't,
Let your imagination feel like you're the best hula hooper in the whole world.
As you step into the red hula hoop on the floor,
You pull it up and you hold it around your hips and you begin moving your hips so the red hula hoop is swirling around your hips.
Keep it moving around your hips and think to yourself,
I am fearless.
Feeling the red hula hoop swirling around and around.
Now stop.
Let it drop and step out of the red hula hoop.
Step into the middle of an orange hula hoop.
Pull it up and hold it around your body right below your belly button.
Begin moving your body so the hoop swirls around and around right below your belly button.
Keep it moving and think to yourself,
I am joyful.
As you keep the orange hula hoop swirling around and around,
Pause and now stop.
And let the orange hula hoop quietly drop and step out.
Step into the top of a yellow hula hoop.
Pull it up and hold it around the middle of your body.
Begin moving so the hula hoop swirls around the middle of your body.
Keep it moving and think to yourself,
I am powerful.
As you keep swirling the yellow hula hoop around the middle of your body,
Feel it swirling.
Now let it drop.
Step out of it and place it on top of the orange hula hoop and the orange hula hoop on top of the red hula hoop.
Moving on to stepping into a green hula hoop.
Pull it up and hold it right around your heart.
Begin moving your body so the green hula hoop swirls around and around your heart.
Keep it moving and think to yourself,
I am loved.
As you keep swirling the green hula hoop around and around your heart.
Now let it gently drop.
Step out and stack it on top of the yellow one and step into the middle of a blue hula hoop.
Pull it up and hold it around your throat and begin moving your neck so the hoop swirls around and around your throat.
Thinking to yourself as it's moving,
I am honest.
Keep the blue hula hoop swirling around your neck.
And now let it drop.
Step out and stack the blue one on top of the green one.
There are two hula hoops left.
Step into the middle of an indigo one.
It's a mix of blue and purple.
Pull it up and hold it around your forehead and begin moving your head so the hoop swirls around and around your forehead.
Keep it moving and repeat to yourself,
I am wise.
Keep the swirling,
Swirling,
Sparkly hula hoop around and around.
And then let it fall.
Place the indigo hula hoop on top of the pile.
Pick up the last one.
It's the color violet.
Stack it on top of the indigo one on top of the pile and step into the middle of the whole stack of hula hoops.
Pick them all up.
Imagine them all swirling around your whole body.
Imagine your body very gently spinning and circling as this rainbow of hula hoop swirls all around you.
Thinking about you being amazing and fearless and joyful and powerful,
Loved and honest.
Now let all the colors combine and melt and blend into a bright white light.
A bright white light shining through the crown of your head.
Fearless,
Joyful,
Powerful,
Loved,
Honest,
Wise and amazing and healthy and whole and perfect as you are.
Beginning to bring the moving to a close.
Feel yourself settling back into your body,
Your body filled with calm and peace.
There's no room for anything else but calm and peace.
Sense the body resting.
Take your time.
Don't hurry and gradually feel yourself just coming back into this space.
Feel the quality of the air as it touches your skin.
Take in these words from Katrina Kennison.
When the going gets tough,
May I resist my first impulse to wade in,
Fix,
Explain,
Resolve and restore.
May I sit down instead.
When the going gets tough,
May I be quiet.
May I sleep for a while in stillness.
When the going gets tough,
May I have faith that things are unfolding as they are meant to.
May I remember that my life is what it is and not what I asked for.
May I find the strength to bear it,
The grace to accept it,
The faith to embrace it.
When the going gets tough,
May I practice with what I'm given rather than wish for something else.
When the going gets tough,
May I assume nothing and may I not take it personally.
May I opt for trust over doubt,
Compassion over suspicion and vulnerability over vengeance.
When the going gets tough,
May I open my heart before I open my mouth.
When the going gets tough,
May I be the first to apologize and may I leave it at that.
May I bend with all my being towards forgiveness.
When the going gets tough,
May I look for a door to step through rather than a wall to hide behind.
When the going gets tough,
May I turn my gaze up to the sky above my head rather than down to the mess at my feet.
May I count my blessings.
When the going gets tough,
May I pause,
Reach out for a hand and make the way easier for someone else.
When the going gets tough,
May I remember that I'm not alone.
May I be kind.
May I choose love over fear every time.
Gradually begin to move and as you stay in this deep inner experience,
Notice how relaxed the body may be,
How slow the breath may be,
How quiet the mind may be,
How still the heartbeat may be.
I dedicate the merit of my teaching to my teachers who graciously gifted their teachings to me and to you for being here with me.
