Hi,
And welcome to the Meeting Starter Meditation.
Let's begin by getting comfortable sitting down with your feet firmly planted on the floor,
Hands resting in your lap.
Now close your eyes.
When we come into a meeting between our personal lives and our individual workdays,
We've each had unique experiences getting here to this moment.
But when we spend a few minutes meditating together,
We can let go of any residue from our days so far and come together with a common purpose,
To reset,
To simply be here in this present moment,
Right now.
So let's start by taking three deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your nose or mouth,
Whatever is more comfortable for you.
With each exhale,
See if you can let the muscles of your face,
Neck,
And shoulders relax.
For the next few moments,
Simply focus on your breath coming in and out of your body.
Notice if you're holding any unnecessary tension anywhere in your body.
With each exhale,
See if you can let go of any tightness or holding in those areas.
As we focus on letting go of physical tension,
Let's also see if we can let go of any mental noise that may be creating tension in our minds.
With each exhale,
Let go of any thoughts about the day so far or any thoughts about the day ahead of you.
It's natural to have thoughts come up while we meditate,
But simply let your thoughts pass through your mind without following them.
If it helps,
You can repeat the words,
Let go,
In your mind as you exhale.
Now let's bring our attention back to this moment,
To now.
Feel the sensations of your feet on the floor.
Feel the sensations of your hands resting on your lap.
Feel the sensations of your breath coming in and out of your body.
As this meditation comes to an end,
Allow yourself to remain calm and open to the meeting ahead.
Staying present,
Taking one more deep breath.
As you exhale,
Slowly open your eyes.
