True love starts with a self-compassion that is connected to an abundance of unconditional love. Sometimes we face difficulties in life that make it harder to open our hearts. We may 'hide' in self- protection. In this meditation, we gently 'seek' to reconnect with love. Whether you are 'hiding' or 'seeking' right now, Beth guides you to attune to love, both in this meditation and in your daily life. This loving compassion is a powerful force for healing.

The kind of love that we're talking about today is a self-compassion and love and care for others that is open and deep,

Chosen and desired,

That comes from an abundant source with an endless capacity.

It is humble and open to the creativity of the unknown.

It is interconnected and can flow through all things.

And when we seek it,

It's with a gentle hand.

We all have ebbs and flows in love and our lives.

Yet it is an essential element for our well-being that can be helpful to consciously cultivate.

Sometimes we find ourselves playing games of hide and seek with love.

Maybe we're hiding because we've experienced difficulty in a relationship that we don't know how to address.

Or perhaps we're hiding because we are in some way feeling unworthy.

Perhaps we are protecting ourselves and others,

Or at least we think we are.

If you notice that sometimes you are not as content,

Spacious or warm as you would like to be,

Or maybe you're feeling more tight,

Closed or scared,

This is a clue to cultivate more love in your life.

The first part is just allowing yourself to own that intention.

I long for love.

You might want to say those words out loud or just whisper them.

I long for love.

And allow yourself to have that longing,

That beautiful human longing.

It's possible you might experience even resistance to that.

There may be a part of you that is uncertain,

Worried,

Afraid,

Guarded.

If that part of you is making it difficult even to acknowledge that desire for love,

Just come and sit by that part of you.

What will help it to feel safe,

To feel like this possibility of love does exist?

A possibility of a love that is nurturing,

That is gentle,

That accepts you exactly as you are.

No strings attached.

Basic energy of love.

You may want to put your hand on your heart and breathe into it a few breaths.

Just notice what is there.

There could be some tightness,

Some sadness.

There could be some warmth or spaciousness.

Take a few more breaths,

Just allowing whatever is there to be there and allowing your hand,

Your loving attention to be present with yourself.

Notice that your inner experience has wisdom for you,

Whatever it brings.

And when you are ready,

Invite yourself to tap into the experience of this gentle,

Warm,

Flowing sense of love,

To allow it to flow through you.

Invite that loving energy,

That loving presence to be with you.

Allow that flow of love to move like a river around any rocks that might be in your being that might be resisting this.

It's okay that they are there,

They are there for a reason.

It's okay if you're able to shift them around to allow the flow of that loving,

Water-like energy to move through you.

Just invite that flow of loving presence and energy to be with you now.

It may help to remember receiving love from a beautiful presence in your life or just to imagine and visualize what is that like to receive that love,

To know that you are safe,

That this love asks nothing of you,

That this love is here for you unconditionally.

Put in to whatever extent you are able today.

Know that this time of seeking love is part of your journey and allow yourself to take it as just one more step on that journey.

Now take a moment and consider what is a way that you can bring this experience of love back with you into your life.

Invite yourself to ask for a word to emerge,

Perhaps a vision,

An image,

Perhaps even a song to come to mind.

Ask yourself,

What will help me come back to this love?

Just be open to the answer.

Now consider,

Is there a regular time of day when you could come into this experience of love?

Perhaps when you wake up in the morning to say,

Hello,

We have another day together.

Perhaps before or after you brush your teeth to just smile at yourself in the mirror with a bit of care and tenderness.

Perhaps when you are buckling your seatbelt to say,

I am keeping myself safe because I love myself.

This process of seeking love with a gentle open hand can help us to come back into alignment with the loving nature that we are blessed with.

Make sure to take the time to love yourself from the inside.

And whenever you are ready,

When that love is overflowing,

You will also share it to the outside naturally.

Remember to come and fill up your love again and again.

Or just maintain that connection to the greater flow of love in the universe.

And when you step away and disconnect,

Notice it,

Find ways to invite yourself to reconnect.

This loving compassion is an incredibly powerful and healing energy.

And I promise you,

These practices will serve you well.

Take one more moment to identify how you will anchor this experience of love,

Is there a word,

A song,

A gesture?

And when is a time during your day that you can regularly practice it?

What we practice,

We become.

Now allow yourself to even let go of that sense of,

Am I doing it well?

Am I not doing it well?

Even let go of that and just take this unconditional love that is bigger than anything you might say or do today or tomorrow.

Allow yourself to maybe visualize wrapping yourself in a blanket of that unconditional love or swimming in a pool of it.

And we'll take three more breaths and then come to closure for this session.

Thank you for opening to love today.

Namaste.
