Hi,
And welcome to this meditation.
This meditation is called Calmness Within the Storm,
A guided meditation for times of anxiety.
So just welcome yourself to this moment.
This moment is for you.
You don't need to be anyone but yourself,
And you don't need to feel a certain way.
This is a space where you are allowed to feel exactly what you feel,
And slowly begin to breathe a little easier.
So now let your body arrive.
You can sit or you can lay down.
Choose a comfortable position for you.
And see if you can let your body soften.
Soften down into the ground.
If you're seated on the chair,
On the floor,
Or if you're laying,
Just let your body be heavy,
Heavy down into the floor.
Maybe you've been carrying a lot today,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
Responsibilities.
Here you're invited to put it all down just for a moment.
Let the breath guide you.
Begin to notice your breath just as it is right now.
Inhale gently through the nose.
Exhale slowly through nose or mouth,
Whatever you prefer.
It's totally okay if the breath feels a bit short or shallow.
We just begin here to notice the breath,
Feeling the breath.
And just by noticing it,
The breath begins to change on its own.
Inhale and let it be a soft yes.
Exhale and release some of the weight.
If there is anxiety,
Let it rest.
If there is worry,
You don't need to push it away.
Let it rest.
See if you can meet it with a bit of gentleness.
Maybe just say to yourself,
I see you,
Anxiety,
And I'm here with you.
You are not anxiety.
You are the one breathing through it.
You are the one holding all of this with presence.
And now feel your connection with the ground.
Bring your awareness to where your body meets the surface beneath you.
Feel how it supports you.
You don't have to hold everything together.
Feel your feet.
Feel your back and your hands just resting.
You are here and you are safe right now.
Inhale that feeling of safety.
And exhale what doesn't need to stay.
Inhale safety.
And exhale what no longer serves you.
And now imagine in front of you that you're standing in the center of a wild wind.
Everything is spinning around you.
But where you stand is completely calm.
Right there it's still.
And that's where you are right now.
In your own quiet center.
There is nothing that you need to fix.
Nothing that you need to do.
Just let it all rest.
You are not alone.
Inhale and gently think,
I am here.
Exhale and think,
I am not alone.
I am here.
I am not alone.
You're a part of something larger.
You're held.
By life.
By earth.
By life.
By the breath.
There is a space for you here.
A space to close.
Take a deep breath in.
And now exhale really,
Really slowly out through the mouth.
Maybe you will feel a small shift.
Maybe not.
But you have given yourself something valuable.
A moment of stillness.
A moment of listening.
Gently come back to your body.
Start to move your fingers and toes.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes again and take in the room that you are in.
Take a moment to thank yourself for this meditation.
For this time and presence.
Thank you so much for meditating together with me.
See you soon again.
