Grief can result from various losses,

Maybe the loss of a job or a loved one.

It can also be something more subtle,

Relocation,

Changing jobs,

Unemployment,

Infertility,

Illness,

Or something unexpected that causes changes in a life plan.

Though ups and downs in life are inevitable,

Our ability to deal with change and loss can be managed and improved.

So let's begin.

My name is Muska Nanda and today I will be guiding you through a short meditation to help you begin to heal.

Allow yourself to find a relaxed position,

Sitting or lying down,

And set aside a few minutes for yourself to completely relax and let go.

Gently begin to soften your gaze.

If you feel called to,

You may close your eyes.

Whatever your situation,

Your grief is real and your loss is important.

So take a deep inhale and allow your thoughts to follow your breath.

Exhale.

Think about someone who can offer you support in this time.

It's in our times of deep loss and grief that we need the most help and when we are least likely to reach out.

You might want to call a friend or a loved one,

Even if you haven't spoken in a while,

Even if it's just to share a meal together or journal together.

Every small act of support can help you feel less alone and help you heal.

Take a deep breath again and as you breathe out,

Feel your body begin to relax.

Breathing in slowly and out.

In and out.

Keep breathing slowly and calmly,

Letting your breath relax you.

Imagine a weighted blanket being placed over you.

The weight allowing your chest and shoulders to release any tension held inside.

Slowly your breath gets deeper as the warmth spreads across your body.

From your abdomen and back to your thighs,

Ankles and feet.

Your body begins to completely relax,

Surrendering to your breath.

As you continue to relax and open up to the present moment,

Be kind to yourself and give yourself the time that you need to feel okay again.

It's completely normal to experience different stages of grief,

Sometimes more than once and it's okay to feel sad and to say so.

It's okay to feel angry or shocked and numb.

As you begin to process your grief,

Your thinking will become more clear as well.

You'll begin to heal from your pain,

Your grief,

Your loss.

When you have every right to feel this way,

To grieve,

You can get through this.

You'll begin to feel better in time and you'll make a new life,

Maybe different from the one you planned but beautiful nonetheless.

Experience and change are part of life and allow us to experience all that life has to offer,

The good and the bad.

We get through the hard times to see the good.

It's completely normal to feel a wide variety of emotions,

Confusion,

Fear,

Sadness.

You're coping,

You're dealing with the grief and you will come out stronger.

You don't have to be over your loss or your grief today.

You can take your time and allow yourself to heal fully.

You can give yourself the permission to feel your feelings and to lean into your breath.

Your breath will bring you back to a safe place every time.

Inhale and exhale.

Begin to gently move your fingers and your toes.

You can move your head side to side,

Relieving any tension in your back,

Neck or shoulders.

Allow your eyes to softly come back and your body to feel again.

Take your time.

Namaste.
