This circuit breaker turns a standard office break into an intentional meditative activity. What are circuit breakers? These short meditations provide swift, instant release and relief from the cycles of stress and tension that many of us feel during a hard day at the office. They are specifically designed to break that cycle, without needing to take time out of your day.

Welcome to this tea break circuit breaker.

Bring your favourite tea or coffee with you.

Gently lift your hands and wrap them around your cup or mug.

Take a few moments to notice the sensation in your fingers and your palms.

Is there warmth or coolness?

Where are your muscles engaged or relaxed?

In your own time,

Slowly lift your cup up towards your face,

Paying attention to the movement in your arms,

Your shoulders as you do so.

And hold it near your face.

Just pause,

Feel your body,

Breathe,

Take in the smell.

What does it look like?

Notice the movement in your neck,

Head and body as you take a sip.

What's the first point that the liquid touches your mouth?

Your lips,

Your teeth,

Tongue?

How does it feel on your throat as you swallow?

And in your own time,

Rest your attention on the movement of lowering the cup back down and ending the action before returning to work.
