A short breathing practice to send yourself self-compassion during those moments when self-criticism may be high & self-love low. This practice helps us reset & breathe in gentle self-kindness. It also includes self-compassionate touch, bringing your hand to your heart or other areas that may need love & attention. Get comfortable,

Perhaps sitting tall,

Maybe letting your eyes close.

And just take a moment to notice how you're feeling.

There's no right or wrong.

Whatever you're feeling right now,

Physically,

Emotionally,

Energetically,

Is valid.

Take a moment to notice your breath.

Follow it in and out.

Now begin to deepen your breath if that's comfortable.

Could mean inhaling and exhaling through your nose,

Or maybe inhaling through your nose and exhaling out through your mouth with a sigh.

And as you're inhaling,

I invite you to visualize kindness and love moving in.

And with your exhale,

Releasing what is no longer serving you,

Letting it go.

Finding a supportive and compassionate and affectionate breath.

Breathing in kindness,

Gentleness,

Breathing out what might feel stuck,

But you no longer need.

And as you're doing this,

I invite you to take your hand and place it on your heart.

Or maybe if there's another part of your body that needs some attention,

Like a part of the body that might feel in pain or tight,

If you have a sore shoulder or an upset stomach,

Maybe you bring your hand there.

And imagine sending that same compassionate,

Gentle,

Kind breath to that area of your body.

Feeling the gentle weight of your hand,

Feeling that soothing,

Grounding touch.

Just take a couple more deep breaths here.

And when you're ready,

Slowly release your hand.

Your eyes are closed,

Gently blinking them open.
