Hello,
Today we have a Chenrezig meditation on deck and this is a meditation on the Buddha of Love and Compassion,
Avalokiteshvara,
And the mantra for Chenrezig is Om Mani Pe Me Hung.
Om Mani Pe Me Hung.
You can also say Om Mani Padme Hung or Hung.
That's also great.
Whatever is maybe more familiar to you all works.
So this meditation like all others,
We ask you don't listen to or perform this meditation while driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery or doing anything where you cannot comfortably sort of leave what's around you to be by itself go within your mind.
I'd like to start with finding yourself in a comfortable position.
You might be in a chair or seated on a meditation type cushion or some sort of kneeling posture.
You can even be lying down while you're doing this.
These are all great choices.
Find yourself with a stable body if you're upright,
A nice tall spine.
Inhale,
Lift your shoulders,
Roll them back and exhale.
Just start to settle into your space.
Bring your attention to the five senses,
Your sight,
Your touch,
Your sound,
Your smell,
Your taste.
See what's in the room around you,
Within you,
Even energetically and or emotionally.
Being aware of the current conditions within where you are,
Being more connected to this present moment and everything that is around you and where you are physically.
And then bring your attention to your breath.
Feel the air.
You can breathe in through your nose,
The stream of air coming in through your nose.
And feel that going all the way down.
Go ahead and allow your belly to expand on every inhale and exhale nice and slow and long.
Releasing energetically with every exhale,
Letting something go.
It can be muscular tension,
Energetic tension,
Releasing on the exhale,
Just softening and letting go.
Now let's start to count the breath.
So pay attention primarily,
Bring your attention to the breath and feel the sensation of air at the tip of your nose on the inhale,
Into your belly,
And feel the sensation of air on the tip of your nose on the exhale.
And start counting.
So we'll count up to at least 21 if you get past that.
Great.
If your attention wanders,
Then bring it back to your breath.
Just use that as a nice cue that,
Ah,
I found my attention was wandering.
Now I can return it to my breath.
So on an inhale to your belly,
One.
On an exhale out,
One.
On an inhale to your belly,
Two.
Exhale,
Two.
Counting with your own breath pace,
Seeing if you can get it nice and slow and even.
If you lose track,
You can just start over at one.
Rest Marquise kilograms.

We drive and desire and attitude towards developing ourselves for enlightenment.
For the purpose of the sake of the benefit of all other beings.
We accept the impermanence of all phenomena.
All matter,
All things,
Everything our senses can identify based in this physical reality is impermanent.
Change is the nature of all things.
Be it growing or decaying,
Evolving or devolving.
The true nature of all things is emptiness.
All things and all beings are aggregates of components.
Identified as all things,
Identified as a whole for a time,
And like clouds in the sky will disaggregate.
Death is for certain.
Only when is unknown.
It could be tomorrow.
Suffering.
All pleasures are temporary.
Old age,
Sickness and death are inevitable.
Friendships and relationships all have an expiration.
Moods and feelings swing like a pendulum.
Within every pleasure lies the seed for suffering that pleasure will leave and be spent.
Too much of a good thing can leave one with a terrible hangover,
Stomachache,
Addiction and so on.
There is the suffering of pleasure and there is the suffering of suffering.
Karma.
Karma explains the physics of the universe.
The energy we put out returns to us.
Those thoughts we put out return to us.
Those actions we generate return to us.
Feelings become thoughts becomes actions become our reality.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Our current conditions reflect prior energy,
Actions and thoughts.
Future conditions will be determined by our present energy,
Actions and thoughts.
Redirecting at the most subtle while the most challenging becomes the most effective.
Generating positive feelings through positive thoughts and positive actions with the effect of recycling positive thoughts and actions naturally from the positive feelings.
Precious human life.
See the preciousness of your human existence.
You're not an animal or an insect.
You have unique human intelligences and capacities.
You woke up this morning breathing with one more day to experience life's unlimited potential.
You are not a human.
You are the body's unlimited potential.
Every meal is a blessing.
Each relative security and comfort is uncommon even among humans.
Arriving safely upon your meditation seat being capable of meditation interested in meditation and free to choose meditation are even more rare.
Many are not so fortunate.
This gift of a lifetime is precious.
Each moment is another jewel to cherish.
With this understanding,
While the current conditions do still exist,
While we still have this body,
Mind,
And momentum,
We choose to pause now for some mind training and focus our efforts towards enlightenment.
Taking Refuge We choose to place our mind on the goal,
Buddha mind,
Enlightenment,
Warrior power,
Truth,
Most authentic self and fullest,
Biggest and highest being always exists.
Looking not to the impermanent,
The transient and unstable common refuges of this world,
I take refuge in the Buddha,
The mind of enlightenment we aspire to realize.
I take refuge in the Dharma,
The teachings and methods on the path that lead us to the goal.
I take refuge in the Sangha,
The guides and companions of the path along the way.
Generating Bodhicitta Taking note of the suffering of the world,
The nature of suffering in the world and the interdependence of all things,
We see how our actions,
Energy and existence are vital to the well-being of those around us.
With the idea of reincarnation as a basis,
We can see how every being may have been our mother in a past life.
As our mother,
They supplied uncountable kindnesses and we wish to repay that kindness and alleviate them from their suffering.
We generate a massive love,
Expanding from our heart center to all beings as our mothers.
Generate an enormous resolve to help them in every way we can.
We wish to alleviate their suffering.
This is most possible from a state of enlightened awareness,
Without confusion,
Disturbances and with total clarity.
Therefore,
We wish to attain the state of a Buddha for the sake and benefit of all beings.
May all beings have happiness and its causes.
May all beings be free from suffering and its causes.
May all beings experience joy without suffering.
May all beings abide in equanimity,
Free from attachment and aversion.
May all beings have happiness and its causes.
May all beings be free of suffering and its causes.
May all beings experience joy without suffering.
May all beings abide in equanimity,
Free from attachment and aversion.
May all beings have happiness and its causes.
May all beings be free from suffering and its causes.
May all beings experience joy without suffering.
May all beings abide in equanimity,
Free from attachment and aversion.
Om Soba Vashuddha Sarva Dharma Soba Vashuddho Kham.
The pure nature of all phenomena is emptiness.
I am the pure nature of all phenomena.
Light shines out from our heart center in all directions.
All beings dissolve into light.
This light dissolves the entire world.
And then our body becomes pure light with all phenomena,
One with all phenomena,
Pure space in all directions with no center or limit.
From our hearts we call to you,
Lama Chenrezig.
We beseech you,
Great Buddha,
Awakened one,
Compassionate exemplar.
We look to you for inspiration,
For guidance,
Blessing,
And protection.
May our hearts and minds be as yours,
Crystalline,
Adamantine,
Unified,
Expressing the union of bliss and void of wisdom and method.
Out of space above our heads and above the heads of all beings great and small,
Materializes a lotus flower composed of light rainbow colored.
Inside of the lotus appears a disk of the moon radiating blissfully with compassionate light.
Upon the moon arises the symbol Hri and from the Hri appears Lama Chenrezig seated in the lotus posture.
His kind eyes fall upon us with great compassion and a lovely smile upon his face.
Chenrezig appears with four arms.
The first two holding a jewel together at his heart between his palms.
The next hold a crystal mala in the right and a white lotus in the left.
He wears the earrings,
Necklaces,
Bracelets,
And ornaments of a Buddha and a deer skin representing peaceful compassion so immense he would never cause any harm and would abandon his own life for the benefit of all their beings.
The red Buddha Amitabha sits upon the head of Chenrezig as a crown.
O victorious ones,
In eight pure extensive bowls we offer eight purified substances.
Pure water is for drinking,
Pure water is for washing,
Beautiful aromatic flowers,
Pure fragrant oils,
Purifying centering incense,
Luminant candles,
Nutritious energizing and delicious foods,
And melodious songs of praise.
To our most honored guests we extend this bountiful blessing.
Celebrate your activities and honor your presence.
The true essences of each of these worldly pleasures we offer is the source of all things,
The emptiness,
The wholeness,
The oneness,
The suchness of existence.
Whatever misdeeds I may have committed through body,
Speech,
And mind in this lifetime and in all others,
I openly disclose and regret.
All the effects resultant from passion,
Anger,
And ignorance,
I openly disclose them all.
I make firm my commitment to work for the benefit of others,
Reduce the suffering,
And release the burdens of these mistakes.
I beseech your protection for myself and others that I may choose the right path.
See the high view.
I request you remain ever-present and interactive,
Extend your blessings to inspire and guide us along the path for the benefit of all beings.
May we lead them out of suffering into bliss and awakening.
I take inspiration from and celebrate the enlightened activities,
Merits,
Blessings,
And achievements of all masters,
Buddhas,
And beings of light of all times and directions.
O perfect Buddha,
Lama Chenrissig,
Protector,
Noble,
Compassionate refuge,
We call to you.
Our many lifetimes have been filled with immense suffering,
Clouded judgment,
Plagued with illusion and endless wandering.
We take refuge in your internal compassion and open our hearts that you may hear us.
Upon a disc at the center of Chenrissig's heart arises the mantra,
Om Ma Nepemehong.
Circling the rim of the disc,
Each letter the petal of a multicolored lotus flower.
Om is white.
Ma is green.
Ni is yellow.
Pe is light blue.
Me is red.
Hung is deep blue.
The white Om represents stable meditation.
It purifies pride and its effects.
The green Ma represents enlightened activity and patience,
Purifies jealousy and its effects.
The yellow Ni represents equanimity and discipline and purifies greed and its effects.
The light blue Pe represents mirror-like wisdom.
It purifies ignorance and its effects.
The red Me represents enlightened speech and discernment.
It purifies desire,
Attachments and their effects.
The deep blue Hung represents the mind of enlightenment and humility.
It purifies anger,
Aversion and their effects.
Chenrissig's transparent body in the mantra lotus radiates five colored lights in all directions.

Light blue,

Deep blue.
This light expands in every direction,
Brilliant beyond worldly light,
Expanding to reach all buddhas who are innumerable,
Infinite in size and microscopic.
The multitudes of buddhas all at once become forms of Chenrissig,
Expressing limitless compassionate means and they return the blessing of lights to Chenrissig and ourselves.
You are encouraged to repeat the mantras yourself through this meditation.
From the center of Chenrissig's heart,
A burst of radiant deep blue light shines out in all directions,
Filling our body,
The bodies of all others and space in all directions.

Let me say the long mantra of Alokiteshvara one time.
Samyak Sambuddhaya namah sarvatata gatibe akhatebe.
Samyak Sambuddhaya namo adyavalokiteshvaraya bodhisattvaya mahasattvaya mahakarunikaya.
Vyathahom dara dara didi didi doodoo doodoo ite vite sare sare prasare prasare kusum e kusumavare e mire zitizolam apana ye soham.
Om sabawashuddha sarvadharma sabawashuddho kham.
Lama Chenrezig above our heads and the heads of all beings dissolves into light,
Spreads into space and becomes one with our bodies and the bodies of all beings.
All beings and ourselves appear as the form of Chenrezig.
All sounds are the mantra,
Om Mani Pe Mi Hung,
And all thoughts are wisdom.
I offer any merit or virtues generated by this practice as an offering for the sake of all living beings.
May I quickly attain the state of Buddha Chenrezig and bring all living beings to the state of boundless space,
Bliss and compassion.
Givadhi nyorathudak Chenrezig vam chuk chukne Dhruva chik yang malupa Di saalagu parshu Jan chub sin chukrim parshu Makye pannam kyegyo chik Gepa nyam pa me pa yang Gong ni gongdu pe wah shu.
By the accumulation of this merit,
May I quickly accomplish the state of Chenrezig,
And may I lead all beings without exception to that state of enlightenment.
May Supreme Bodhicitta grow where it has not yet grown.
Where it has grown pure,
May it grow higher and higher.
