For our mindfulness practice today,
You can be in any sort of relaxed position that makes you feel at ease and comfortable,
That can be lying down or seated.
And we're gonna actually focus the theme today on giving thanks and really connecting to that idea of gratitude.
And really the more that you practice,
It is a practice,
Being grateful,
The easier it will come to you.
So even finding that one moment in the morning to when you blink open your eyes,
What are you grateful for?
And we talked about that earlier.
So we're gonna focus on that.
And when done often,
It can become a really extremely rewarding habit.
So before you start this mindfulness practice,
You can light a candle if you want,
Recognizing that you have chose to focus on and be thankful for an experience flowing throughout your body and appreciation for your place in this world and a joyful feeling for your current life situation.
So sitting quietly or laying down quietly,
Breathe in and out slowly until you quiet your mind and you feel relaxed.
So just sort of focus on your breaths in.
You might even wanna say,
This is my in breath.
And then as you exhale,
This is my out breath.
So we're just giving our focus and our attention to our breathing.
And we're gonna start just by visualizing what people in your life are you grateful for?
So you can begin with those you love that are close to you and then sort of extend your gratitude to anyone who has even crossed your path and positively impacted you.
Just start thinking about those people and visualizing them.
You might see their faces come to mind.
And let's now visualize as we breathe the things you're grateful for in your life.
They may be as simple as your ability to see and hear and taste and talk and touch.
So your senses.
Are you grateful for the blue sky?
The cool breezes?
The beautiful,
Delicious food.
Laughter.
Full moons.
The beautiful colors that we see every day.
The joy of hearing music.
Fireplaces or whatever comes to mind.
So these can be the simple things that are very personal to you to start thinking about those things in your life that bring you gratitude,
That you're thankful for.
And lastly,
Our third piece of this visualization of gratitude is I want you to think about the qualities that you have that you're grateful for and they're really part of you and make you unique.
They make you your total being.
It can be your dedication,
Your cheerful ability to make everybody smile,
Demeanor,
Your intelligence,
Your honesty,
Your trustworthiness and the list goes on.
And again,
They're personal to you and you cannot get these answers wrong.
And I want you just to breathe into those.
And just take a moment to take both hands to your heart center,
Place them over your heart,
Just left of center.
And with a little pressure on the heart,
Just again,
Giving thanks for just the ability to take the time to do this today for you.
Simple little four or five minutes,
Going inside,
Being connected,
Just taking a moment to take a moment to take a moment to take a moment to take a moment to take a moment to really start going inside,
Being connected,
Being present and showing gratitude.
So let's take one more inhale and exhale together to close our practice.
Inhale and let it go.
Blink open your eyes.
Thank you so much for taking the time and joining me for you,
To you,
For doing this with me today.
Thank you so much everybody.
