Hello there,

I'm Michelle and today we're going to be doing a short practice to unblock the nasal passages and this is useful to do before any meditation practice,

Any breath work or pranayama.

And we'll breathe in time with a digital metronome.

First of all we'll put the left hand into a fist and pop it under the right armpit and lower the right arm down so there's a little bit of pressure in that right armpit.

And then with the right index finger we're going to block off the right nostril and breathe in and out for three breaths through the left.

So blocking the right,

Breathing in,

Feeling the belly rising and exhaling through the left nostril.

Breathing in through the left once again and exhale breathing out.

And one more like this inhaling through the left nostril,

Exhale breathing out.

And changing sides so the right fist under the left armpit,

Inhaling through the right nostril blocking the left,

Exhaling out through the right.

Breathing through the right noticing the belly rising and exhaling once again.

Inhaling for the last time here and exhaling through the right nostril.

And just resting the hands in the lap and just breathing through both nostrils,

Exhaling here and just noticing any changes.

And if you feel that the nasal passages are not quite clear yet you could repeat this as many times on each side as you need to.

Then you might want to continue after this practice with a coherent breathing practice.

Thank you for practicing with me today.

Thank you, Michelle! I have a grossly deviated nasal septum, and I find this practice very helpful to open up both passages!
