Welcome to this guided meditation for the root chakra.

Today's meditation is going to be focused on the root chakra,

Our sense of safety,

Belonging and abundance.

We're looking for a feeling of being grounded in this meditation.

So if you can find a position to sit comfortably,

Please do so.

Just making sure you've got a nice long spine,

Let the sit bones feel heavy.

If it's not comfortable to sit cross legged,

You could sit on a chair with your feet flat on the ground.

Alternatively,

You can lie down,

But please just bend your knees so that you can bring the soles of the feet to the floor or the mat.

Just aiding our sense of feeling grounded and connected to the earth.

We'll start by simply focusing in on our breath.

So gently closing the eyes,

Starting to breathe in and out through your nose.

Just simply noticing the breath to begin with.

Notice if it's fast or slow,

Whether you're feeling it into your chest or whether it's traveling all the way down to your tummy.

Now drawing your attention right to the base of your spine,

The location of your root chakra.

Imagine a glowing red ball of light right at the base of your spine.

It can start off really small,

Like a little pinprick of red light.

And then with each deep inhale,

Imagine the light growing stronger and brighter.

Expanding into a ball of red energy,

Red light right at the base of your spine.

And as you look closer at it,

You see it's spinning.

Visualizing your root chakra.

Completely balanced,

Spinning with ease.

Keeping the color of red in mind as we breathe a little bit deeper,

So creating a nice even inhale and exhale,

Drawing the breath down to the tummy.

Exhaling fully in and out through the nose.

With your breath settled into a deep,

Slow pattern.

Start to repeat some affirmations to you.

All you have to do is simply repeat the affirmation in your head to yourself and notice how it makes you feel.

Anything that comes up for you.

Repeat each affirmation a few times and then at the end you'll have a few minutes of silence to either reflect on the meditation or just focus back in on your breath.
