Coming to the breath.

So becoming aware of your posture.

Aware of your feet on the floor.

Sensations of contact with the ground.

Or if you're sitting,

Awareness of the chair.

Weight of your feet on the floor.

Awareness of the chair.

Weight of your body going down.

And also the height of the body going up.

Sitting with a sense of dignity.

And presence.

And when you're ready,

Bringing the awareness to rest in the breath.

Breathing itself.

Seeing if it's possible for you to be present as the breath breathes in and breathes out.

Not needing to interfere with the breath in any way.

Simply aware of the breath.

Perhaps noticing on the out breath how the body lets go.

The gentle expanding on the in breath.

And letting go again on the out breath.

And if the mind leaves the breath,

Bringing a kindly curiosity to where the mind goes to.

Perhaps thinking,

Planning.

Or to an emotion felt in the body.

Or other sensations in the body.

And remembering that this isn't a mistake.

That it is in the nature of our minds for them to wander.

Coming back to the breath.

To this moment.

Breath breathing itself.

Coming to the breath.
