When we rush, or try to live at someone else’s pace, we lose touch with the natural rhythm of our own body. This gentle guided visualization by Ilana — the voice behind Mettamood — accompanies her talk “Finding Your Rhythm Again — Healing the Habit of Rushing”, the second pattern in The Seven Patterns That Block Healing series. This journey invites you into deep relaxation, taking you to a quiet shoreline where time slows down, the nervous system unwinds, and the rhythm of the waves helps you sink back into your own natural pace. You’ll be invited to release the inner urgency you’ve been carrying, step out of others’ expectations, and softly reconnect with your body and its inner timing — until your whole being settles into a rhythm that is uniquely yours. Let this practice be a gentle return to presence — where life stops rushing through you, and begins to move with you again.

Take a slow breath in and exhale softly.

Feel your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw relax.

Let your belly expand gently with each inhale.

There is nothing to fix and nowhere to hurry.

Just arrive.

Just breathe.

I'm Ilana,

The voice behind Metamode,

A space for exploring the invisible laws that shape our reality,

Coming home to yourself,

And healing through truth,

Purpose,

Beauty,

And self-love.

Let your breath become a little slower.

Let your body know it is allowed to be here,

Exactly as it is now.

Imagine you're standing at the edge of a quiet beach at sunrise.

The air is clear and soft.

The sky is painted in gentle shades of pink and gold.

In front of you,

The ocean moves with a calm,

Steady rhythm.

The waves rise and fall,

Unhurried and constant.

You begin walking barefoot along the sand.

With each step,

You feel the sand receive the pace you've been holding,

The rushing,

The tension,

The pressure to keep up.

Here,

Everything around you moves slower.

And little by little,

Your body begins to match it.

A little further ahead,

You notice a small tide pool formed by the rocks at the water's edge.

The ocean is moving in long,

Wide breaths,

But this pool has its own movement.

The water inside it turns and shimmers in slow circles,

Smooth,

Clear,

Almost hypnotic.

You come closer and sit beside it.

The rock beneath you is warm from the early sun.

You can see tiny shells at the bottom,

Patterns in the sand,

The sky reflected on the surface.

You place your hands just above the water,

Feeling the coolness of the air above it,

And the calm,

Circular motion below.

This little pool holds the rhythm that is yours.

Not the world's,

Not your family's,

Not your culture's,

Not your partner's or your colleague's,

But the rhythm your body has always known.

As you sit here,

Begin to imagine the rushing inside you,

The quick thoughts,

The tightness behind your ribs,

The habit of moving faster than your body wants,

Slowly softening.

Feel it melting downward,

From your chest,

Your shoulders,

Your belly,

Flowing down through your arms,

Toward your hands.

And with each exhale,

Imagine that old rush pouring softly out through your hands,

Slipping into the calm water in front of you.

The pool receives it all,

And slows it down until every ripple becomes smooth.

Your breath grows deeper,

Your body feels a little quieter inside.

Now,

Bring to mind one place in your life where you've been pulled out of your own rhythm.

Maybe as a child you watched someone who was always in a hurry,

A hole where slowing down was called laziness,

Or falling behind.

Maybe it's a workplace that runs on urgency and deadlines,

Where you feel you can never stop.

Maybe it's a culture that praises speed and productivity,

And forgets rest.

Or maybe it's a person you love,

Someone whose fast pace you've tried to match so you wouldn't lose connection or disappoint them.

Let whatever comes up appear in front of you,

Not as a person or a place,

But simply as a tempo,

A fast insistent beat that doesn't belong to your body.

Notice how that tempo feels,

And then in your mind take one small step back from it.

Feel the distance,

Feel your own space returning,

Feel your breath becoming yours again.

Whisper inwardly,

I don't have to move at anyone else's pace,

I'm allowed to have my own timing,

My rhythm is mine.

Let these words sink into your chest,

Your belly,

Your whole nervous system.

Turn your attention back to the sea,

Watch the waves for a moment,

Inhale as they rise,

Exhale as they return.

Let your breath follow them.

A slow wave in,

A slow wave out.

Even the ocean,

Vast and powerful,

Does not move in a straight line,

It moves in cycles.

Rest and movement,

Gathering and returning.

Let your body remember this.

You too are allowed to live in cycles,

You are allowed to have moments of stillness and moments of movement,

And both are part of your rhythm.

Place one hand on your heart and one on your lower belly.

Feel the warmth under your palms.

Notice the rhythm inside you now,

A little slower,

A little softer,

More like yourself.

In your own words,

Or silently,

Say,

I return to myself.

I move at my own pace.

My rhythm is enough.

Let your body hear you,

Let it trust you.

When you're ready,

Imagine standing up from the rock and walking once more along the shore.

Notice how your steps feel now,

Not rushed,

Not trying to catch up,

Simply present.

The ocean is beside you,

The sand is beneath you,

Your breath moves with you.

You're no longer running ahead of your life,

You're walking with it.

Take a slow breath in and exhale gently.

Begin to bring your attention back to your physical body,

To the space around you,

To this moment in your day.

Carry this quieter rhythm with you into your next conversation,

Your next task,

Your evening,

Your rest.

Thank you for being here and for choosing to listen.
