Hello,
Welcome,
Opulent mindfulness.
Today's meditation is entitled Dropping Our Guard to Give.
Dropping Our Guard to Give.
As we approach the most giving season of all,
How do we do this with integrity,
Maintaining the spirit of giving,
And dropping our guard around how hard it might be to make it through?
How difficult is it going to be to give?
And I'd like to guide this meditation in a way that helps to serve you in giving all year round.
Giving of your time and your effort.
Giving of your attention,
Your love.
Giving of your creativity.
Giving of your self.
Immediately as I say these things,
Just notice what's happening within your own body.
Is your guard going up?
Oh,
That's going to be uncomfortable.
I don't know.
Is it going to make me tired?
Will I have to get dirty?
Will I know what to do and say?
It's going to take effort,
Maybe money,
Maybe time.
Just notice this conversation that's going on in your head around the notion of giving.
Mostly when I say giving,
I mean service.
Hoping,
Doing.
All right,
So drop into your comfortable seat.
Take a big belly breath in and a longer soothing breath out.
And in the meditation,
We do nothing.
We ready our hearts.
We prepare and visualize the unfolding of our giving,
The extending of our arms,
The efforting for another.
So simply dwell in the space.
Safe and comfortable space.
Incubating upon ideas of where your service may be needed.
Doing nothing.
Only drop into your body.
And when you land on something that lights you up,
Allows your heart to soften in your belly to unfold in creativity.
And you know you've landed on the right way to give of yourself.
To the right person.
People groups.
Drop into your body being here.
Safe.
You do nothing.
Feel.
Yes,
Helping another takes exertion.
Can we help from our heart,
We are inspired and the energy is created without effort.
As they say,
Getting out of our own way so we can channel that goodness toward another in service.
If you get a resistance around what you're thinking about how to serve,
Notice that too.
Maybe redirect.
If you feel obligated to serve in duty,
Shift your mindset.
Getting out of your own way,
Simply channeling for good.
Notice any discomfort.
When we sit in this safe meditative state and visualize a future act of service and kindness,
Just notice if you start to close in or expand open.
And where stress will start to seep in is when we feel we're making a departure from ourselves as we do the work for another.
But if we can remain united within connected to self while in service,
This will elevate you.
Taking this time to find your awareness around your bodily response.
Recall the last time you gave selflessly.
Maybe this left you with a certain high or a certain softness or tenderness in your heart.
Feel on this and see the finish line before you even get started to help you get out the door and go.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Stay in your body.
Connected to your being.
Safe,
Comfortable,
Secure and loved.
And you're simply going to take that whole package of you into action,
Into service.
Stay connected.
Drop into the body,
Feel,
Expand,
Become easeful in your body.
And again,
Take that whole package visualizing your move into service.
Surrendering to ride the wave of energy that will well up within you.
And then it's over.
Take a big belly breath in.
Drop into your body.
Be free and soft and safe.
Feeling love that cannot stand to sit still.
Namaste.
